Thinker I had the idea to try and create a tulpa which I've been reading about, with a personality that would help me build up the confidence to kill myself.

Any thoughts on if something like this would actually work? Still not 100% sure that tulpas are legit, but worth a shot maybe.

I'm pretty desperate for a suicide partner, and have derailed some friendships to try and find one. I'm not really a fan of looking online since it would seem hard to organise, it would be easy for the other person to ghost/drop out, various other reasons...

← Not OC but thought it might apply widely

I'm not active on the site at all, but there is a tulpa forum out there where you can find tips on creating one.

I'm new to the concept but supposedly you can create a second consciousness in your own mind, which can act independently of your own, providing deeper access to long-term memory and giving a second opinion. Many people create them due to social difficulties and loneliness, with a tendency for people to make imaginary girlfriends I believe. A tulpa has its own personality.

Damn… that image sounds like an allegory for myself, ngl.

I can't really offer much advice other than to do a deep dive on the internet and see if your research leads you anywhere.

I've started working on a personality that is confident, bold, critical, harsh, motivated, motivational, judgemental, calm & collected, etc. to fill in the gaps in my own personality and can motivate and push me towards suicide.

Have you decided what you want them to look like?

Umulnjo I have always had an 'imaginary friend' which I use to make decisions but it's not a tulpa or anything, just how my mind works and is controlled entirely by my own consciousness.
Mock-up I made of how they look:

It's a fun retrospective exercise, and I like it. Something like this, I believe, can help you focus on what makes you happy and confident.

What I read did not depict you negatively, and due to my ADHD, I have also engaged in such behaviors. I'm also prone to daydreaming.

When you concentrate on something meaningful, you naturally spend less time on frivolous activities. Thank you for sharing.

I've been seeing this topic pop up more and more often here lately. If you're already interested in dreams and meditation and the concept of self then you'll probably also find tulpa stuff interesting. Most of the communities focus on the psychology surrounding it, they have plenty of guides on all sort of topics. I still read them from time to time even though i'm moreso into the occult/spiritual side of things. They have some unique ideas when they don't focus on sex.

I have a bunch of these, but I always (never out loud but in my head) called it associative identity order. Cuz it works. I let them interact and support each other and argue and shit. XD. One of them goes to work, a couple interact with family. Got another one for going out in not-work public. I started with an absent father figure, and fleshed it out.
