i was planning on hanging myself, originally was waiting to get a pullup bar to use but instead just using my closet door, that sounds okay right?

I don't know much about that path; I do know full vs. partial makes a difference in what you can use as an anchor but that the knot and rope material are important. It isn't how they hang people for executions which severs the spinal cord. It requires time to deprive the brain of oxygen and I've read of stories here where people fail, sometimes because their bodies go on autopilot while suspended and they "save themselves".

This is one of the methods that can cause brain damage if not done right; please be careful.

I'm sorry I don't have any experience or practice with hanging methods… have you checked any instructions you have — from books or on here?
