Thought I'd start a megathread for discussing Cannabis. 🌱

I'll put it in offtopic so we can yarn about all things Cannabis related, not just medicinal use.

I smoked blue cheese dabs and got super stoned for the first time in ages, on 04/20 and again last night, and enjoyed it.

I was always the guy that could smoke everyone under the table... However since my health took a turn, It's a fine line when it comes to getting high. Whether I will have a good time or a mini existential crisis, very much comes down to the particular plant/strain and how it's grown it seems. Also my mood.

You can share your stories and ask questions here.

Peace. 👽💨

Here's a link to read The Emperor Wears No Clothes by Jack Herer, online for free. https://anyflip.com/setd/ptdd/basic/

You can also read it for free as always, here at the official site https://jackherer.com/emperor-3/ but I prefer the anyflip link because it's easier for me to read.

My stepfather owned an old early edition hard copy of this book, and I read it when I was young at about the age of 14, long before I even smoked for the first time. I remember there were many pictures in each chapter. I'm not sure why these newer versions don't have any pics, but the body of text is all there.

This book is essential reading for anybody who is interested in learning about Cannabis, it's rich history and culture, and most of all- the modern conspiracy against the oldest, most widely used and valuable plant in recorded human history.

Enjoy! 🌱

Looks like you have a nice room/set up there. Pretty jealous. Guessing you're in a legal state. Man I would really have some skills to put to use in such a place. How long do they have left? 10 days to a couple weeks is my guess. Do you flush?

Not mine unfortunately 😢 Love the nug porn coming from some of these newer hype strains! Personally I'm a nostalgic fan of less pretty looking but more traditional and land race-y genetics.

The % can be very high with novel genetics, but the overall experience feels less 'complete' I think. This is pretty anecdotal obviously but for those who prefer to listen to numbers, there is some scientific evidence of a loss of genetic information when a plant is grown indoors for so many generations... But now I've gone off on a ramble.

I would also guess at least a couple of weeks min. But tbf I consider ready to be 100% amber trichs with no milky.

Flushing... That's a good question, I guess how important it is, depends on a few things including the style of grow. so many people (especially newschool grow nerds) argue that it's a myth and doesn't matter at all, and the dry/cure is all that counts. I was taught everything I know by old heads who would always swear by it, so I would always be inclined to do it unless I was running coco.

I have tried bud that was grown using DWC and not flushed, but cured well and it was fantastic, also flushed buds that were harsh. My thoughts are, if you are running your feeds at an EC that is 'just above too little' you get better results and flushing is less important, as opposed to EC that is 'just below too much' if that makes sense.

@fox_wannabe That's great to hear. We love CBD too, it's the only thing that has effectively controlled my daughters seizures without bad side-effects. She went from being on multiple pharmaceutical drugs and still having frequent seizures, to only CBD and not a single twitch.

I learned from old heads too. Are you EU or US? Some pretty interesting oldschool landrace seeds via a UK forum. Only place you'll get them unless you know someone in person. A strain called oldtimers comes to mind. The same oldtimers on the name of some organic feed available through plant magic. Though he feel out with them and no longer endorses what they currently sell under his name. Think it was a formula change he didn't agree with. Proper old head. Near enough blind and rarely posts unfortunately. Lot of knowledge in that head though. Lots of his post and tutorials still on the site last I checked. It's been a while though.

Australia 🤫

Those dudes who help keep landrace genetics going are a blessing in these times of rampant pollen chuckers. It takes so much dedication, you pretty much have to postpone all other breeding so you don't accidentally chuck while you're running them, and keep an eagle-eye out for any hermie action.

Are you in the UK? I've got no idea if it's legal there or not atm. I know a lot of people don't like land racers because they flower for so long, you could run 3-4 harvests with certain hybrids in the time it takes for a single crop!

Yeah it's true some of them take some time. It's worth it for a percy grower I guess. Especially if they have a stash already. Variety is the spice of life. The ever expanding Mother tent can be a bit troublesome lol.

God laws in Oz are very harsh on bud, right? Any drugs really.

It's still illegal in the UK but the law is kinder than Australia. Many percy growers get a slap on the wrists. There's a lot of Vietnamese gangs growing on a big scale. Usually haze, stardawg or some of the older reliable cuts like cheese, white widow or Rhino. Cheese is pretty much out the picture now since stardawg killed it off on yield and strength. They go for maximum yeild obviously. Some of them tackling the 'flavours' scene with artificial terps or whatever sprayed on bud. It's not good. They often have 'slaves' working and living in the grows. It's pretty dark stuff tbh but there's also a pretty cool underground scene of people sharing knowledge and their own crosses. There's been some beauties. Some of them making it into the mainstream and getting shipped to the US. Theres a UK seed seller called ugorg who were amongst the first to have gsc. They named theirs disco biscuit and there were a few phenos in there (as always with seeds) but the original gsc strain was in there pretty prominent. They're a more landrace oeganisation though and have a small library of classics.

Oh for sure. I think that's another reason why I find them so special, because commercial growers and people looking to sell won't usually run land race genetics and instead opt for one of the faster or higher yielding hype strains with bag appeal. Don't get me wrong, I love candy too. Any one of those flavours of the month with the name of a random desert and the letter Z slapped on the end.

Oz weed laws are cooked as. It's very different in every state and territory, the laws change constantly, and at the moment they have legalised it in the capital city, Canberra, but made it more illegal in other places. So only the richest on the east coast have the privilege to grow atm I think 2 plants under 4foot.

But despite the legal status it's more popular than ever in Oz and there's more growers than ever. The price has sky rocketed in the last few years too so it's spawning a new gen of wannabe weed gangsters, it's crazy.

Wow, same! There's two main groups of weed here, the red stuff grown by the bikies and asian gangs like you said, and everything else. Those Vietnamese will strip entire houses and fill every room, and steal power from the grid. They take the focus off the small guys who are just trying to grow a small stash of medicine for themselves at least.

Yes we're lucky too that an underground scene that actually appreciates it is growing, and there are some wonderful communities here. Until they hurry up and make it legal nationwide there will always be that criminal element looking to cash in.

Punto Rojo, AKA Tierra Adentro. An old Colombian land race strain that was discovered in the 70's. Like most sativa land race strains, the plant grows very long and tall, the buds are airy, and the leaves are very thin and narrow. Smells like fruit and incense, good for inflammation, and will keep you awake with very stimulating and energetic effects.

Cooking with Cannabis is fun and extremely rewarding, especially for the medical user. There are countless cookbooks out there, but a newer craze that popped up in recent years and has gained huge popularity, is gummies. Who doesn't like gummy bears and sour gummy worms?

The thing is though, an edibles gummy recipe that both works, and tastes good, is actually difficult to pull off. Most people will try to use oils, concentrates and extracts, but find their gummies either taste bad, or the layers separate.

Here's a recipe that produces potent, top notch quality gummies every time. Enjoy!

*note, this recipe calls for the use of "1 zip" which is an ounce, or 28g of bud. By my maths, that will be around 310mg of cannabis per gummy bear, and if the bud is around 20% THC, that means there is 62mg THC and 248mg mycerne terpenes and other cannabinoids per gummy bear. Nice!

👽🌱

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

GUMMIES!

I use alcohol tunicate, as it's truly the best way to infuse cannabis into water based mixes, especially for mixes like gummies and lollipops! Why? cause when you're done, the alcohol is completely burned off, so your gummies taste just like real gummies, without even tasting a hint of cannabis.

Here is my quick recipe... (makes 105 - 1 inch gummies)

Can leave them out, they don't need refrigerating, No-melt gummies...

1 (6oz box) of jello, whatever flavour you like
2 x 7g packs of plain gelatin
1/2 teaspoon citric acid
1/4 teaspoon of cream of tartar
1/3 cup of light corn syrup
1/3 cup of distilled water
5 tablespoons, alcohol tunicate*
1 x 3-4 quart stove-top cooking pan
1 small bowl
1 small whisk

1. Mix all dry ingredients into a small bowl, (flavoured jello, plain gelatin, citric acid, cream of tartar), use a small whisk to mix them all together...

2. place your 3-4 quart stove-top cooking pan on a small burner on your stove. Set it to a medium heat, pour the light corn syrup and water into that pan. Bring to a boil, once it is boiling, pour the alcohol tunicate in. Begin whisking the mixture. Cook the mixture for exactly 4 minutes whilst continually whisking the mix. Now pour in your dry mix, and cook for another exactly 4 minutes whilst continually whisking the mix. Now stop whisking, and let the mix bloom up for 10 seconds, then remove the pan from the burner, and begin whisking the mix again for exactly 2 minutes. Then place the pan back onto the medium heat burner, and let it sit there until to begins blooming upward again. Then remove it from the burner and let it cool slightly to a very warm temp. After, take your whisk one last time and whisk it for 30 seconds, then fill your mold with your gummy mix.

After...

1. Let molds sit out for 1/2 hour, then place in your refrigerator for another 1/2 hour.
2. After, remove gummies from molds and place them upside down on wax paper for 24 hours. Then flip them over and let them sit out right side up for another 24 hours. Then package or jar them up! Freeze for up to a year.

Other Notes....

1. before filling molds, spray molds with cooking spray.

*Alcohol Tunicate... (makes 8 oz of tunicate)

Chop 1 zip of nice buds, or use 1 1/2 zip of finely trimmed trim. On a foil lined cookie sheet, place your chopped bud or finely trimmed trim. Preheat your oven to 245F, and cook your chopped bud or finely trimmed trim for 22 minutes. After, place your decarbed chopped bud or finely trimmed trim into a 1 quart mason jar, Then add 10 ounces of ever clear, either 151 or 195 proof, and place that into your freezer for 1 hour! After, strain mix through 4 layers of cheese cloth, squeeze it out! Then place your alcohol tunicate into the freezer for another 1 hour. Then strain that mix through 2 unbleached coffee filters. Then place your alcohol tunicate into your freezer again until you are ready to use it. An 8 ounce jar of alcohol tunicate can make 1220 - 1240 gummies, if you use 5 tablespoons of alcohol tunicate for each gummy bear mix! These come out containing 250mg to 320mg of cannabis in each gummy, yep they are pretty potent, happy me!

How do you stop yourself munching too many of those things lol!? Making them tasty is just lethal for me.

Locally we used to enjoy something we dubbed 'cosmic custard'. Pretty simple stuff but quite potent. Bit of hash (double zero, red or gold seal at the time) simmered in a dot of oil briefly before adding to custard and pouring over a slice of sponge cake. Tasted of hash but in an amazing way which seems to be lacking in a lot of commercially popular edibles at the moment. Whenever I eat cake and custard I get this memory whiff of hash decarboxilated in oil.

What I remember most from taking that stuff was this weird sort of slow framerate vision. Panning across the horizon (180 degrees) would be like 3 or 4 frames at some unknown low hertz rate. :))

I don't think it can be done! I consistently go way too far with edibles every time I have them, which is probably why I don't make them often.

Sounds absolutely divine, and actually quite simple. I'll keep this in mind next time there's a bit of hash around. I love sponge cakes, and just thinking about using one to mop up all that hashy custard is making me horngry.

Actually I'm the same- I noticed that people really like edibles without the weed flavour these days, but I love that herbal taste and it's one of my favourite elements in any edibles dish. Especially with things like banana bread, it makes it even better. I feel like without it, something is missing, no matter how squinty it gets you.

You're the first person (other than myself) I've heard say this! Not from edibles, but I remember a long time ago, telling my friend after we smoked some amazing bud, that I was seeing things in slow motion stop-start strobe vision. He didn't understand what I meant and laughed at me, but it was almost like being in a claymation.

So much fun. These days I prefer to have something that will make me raid the fridge and then knock me out, instead of something mindblowing. Too much anxiety.

I always found it improved my depression and general outlook on life.

I've had my psychotic episodes during times of recovery where I was utilizing 0 "bad" coping mechanisms. My issues remained and I did nothing to cope and my brain seems to snap. I see cbd and thc as a medicine until proven otherwise. I appreciate the warning though because I know it's out of concern and I would refrain if I found myself in psychosis during a period of use.

Definitely if your finding it helps your depression, it makes sense to use the plant. It's rather innocuous, and depression kills!

It seems it's becoming more accepted as time goes on, maybe because it actually can be a gift to some. Ironically, many of those who believe in a God who would create this plant, and put it here on this earth for us to use (Genesis 1:29) seem to be the most against it.

I'm not saying your parents suffer with religious dogma, it's just a common view. But I hope you can keep enjoying something that's helping you to stay alive and not have to worry.

My mom believes in God, but she's not a hard core Christian. My dad's agnostic. They both are ignorant when it comes to weed. I had to hide my edibles last night. Luckily they were both asleep when I came home from work so it was easy to bring them in :) I can't wait to take one maybe tonight

That's some nice looking extract @Darkover !

Nebula II (CBD) by Paradise Seeds.

For many medical users who are looking to self treat with cannabis, the THC 'high' valued by recreational users is often a side effect they do not want.

Nebula II is a combination of the Afghani and Californian genetics found in the original Nebula strain, together with an infusion of CBD Rich plant genetics. The result is a plant with a 1:1 THC/CBD ratio. The 1:1 CBD/THC ratio means therapeutic powers for the user without the psychoactivity.

It's surprising to me that this is a sativa dominant plant.
