I love how you paint the family members in such a good light, ignoring their vile desire of wanting to cause huge damage to our community for something that was on them. Good job completely ignoring the facts and the situation.

I'm not going to get in a back and forth with you on this because I respect the forum too much, but with all due respect you don't know the facts of the situation either. You did not know the member personally, nor do you know any of her family members. All that you know is the Facebook comments that were posted during likely the most tragic moment of their entire lives. We don't know any of their situations or circumstances anymore than any of her family members know this forum.

I wish you the best. I will now stop posting, and step back as just a reader until my ctb day. I don't want to cause anyone here any trouble at all, but I genuinely hope that many of you will reconsider how you've handled this situation.

Having to go to work with serious mental disorders is worse than torture. Even for healthy people work often brings suffering - for the sick this is hell. Parents and friends may think that a person is just lazy and therefore does not want to work - but he is unwell and this is the real reason, mentally ill people cann't work, it is more disgusting than slavery, it is very cruel.

They lost their loved one. There is nothing to "challenge". We aren't in some PR battle looking for public favor. We are here for support - it's definitely crossing the line when you are personally attacking loved ones of one of our members who committed suicide.

This is being way blown out of proportion. I don't understand what is so wrong with continuing on as normal - I don't understand the need to go after family members that are looking for any potential answer for her decision. Suicide isn't easy for anyone - us members should understand that more than anyone, and it's really frustrating to see the callousness in how some are talking about the family.

They are trying to find a way to cope. One ABC news article is not going to shut this forum down - perpetuating this issue by continuing to go after her family will do far more harm. And at the end of the day, while I don't want to speak for Kakabushi or pretend to know her circumstances, I would guess that she probably wouldn't want members of this forum attacking her loved ones as "nasty people".

Just chill out. No one here encouraged or aided in her decision, and that is well-established. We have nothing to worry about, so please quit adding to the fire.

They are the ones who started by calling us "the dark", "horrible people", and monsters. And I don't refer to the family only, I do about pro-lifers in general. We just want support and a way to end our suffering and they don't want us to have that because they rather see us suffering and being miserable as long as they can be on their high horse. This is not an attack, this is self-defense from a group of people who want to destroy the only place many can solace from the world with their hate and vitriol.

Honestly I doubt that's the actual reason. She must have had prior mental issues already that led her there. But it probably was the icing in the cake. Her mom, the happy coach, and the one who was supposed to raise her daughter the right way, probably pressured her to work there against her will, as she was living with her. Her poor baby ego can't take the blame of the loss of her daughter, so she rather pass it on to strangers who literally did nothing to cause her to kill herself.

Yeah, it was mentioned in the news report that she had depression, anxiety, agoraphobia and who knows what else.

The only thing we succeed at by attacking them is pissing the off more.

I just personally believe that the post about how horrible the other side is makes the situation worse. I personally shared some of my story to put something positive about the site out there. I am legit on my way to inpatient treatment today. I will do this one last time so my loved ones know I tried. I hope when I'm released y'all are still here. I needed this place. I just think our positive stories would be better to share. There is nothing attractive about name calling.
And just so the other side knows... We are not horrible people here. We are NOT MURDEROUS. We are broken. We seek a peaceful ending. We are COMPASSIONATE. We are EDUCATION. We care about the amount of PAIN involved about our exit plans.

Like her, we'd love to inform our beloved ones that we are seriously leaving this world soon. We want to say our farewells without the fear of being imprisoned.

I'm just reading all reports coming in about this case and the connection to SS. Quite a few news outlets are picking up on this. And you can actually read the circumstances of the passed member in some of them - like, all the things she tried to improve her life and apparently, they tried a lot. And nothing worked. According to the articles I've read, she was suffering for years - and her parents are asking for more?
Apparently her struggles started years ago and the parents knew this. They knew she was suicidal, literally every article frames it like that. At the same time, the mother insists that there were "no signs" of her being suicidal because she 'didn't seem sad or disturbed'. That's literally what she said. She also said they 'didn't see her suicide coming'. Despite her suffering from various mental illness, her going through therapy with various doctors, her saying that she 'doesn't want to live'. Her own mother even admits that they 'tried everything' - and apparently none of this helped her. These details and her family acting like this tells a lot about this case. And the more I read about it, the more I am disgusted with their statements. They literally pretend that this site alone pushed her daughter into suicide. Do they even grasp the concept of suicidality? Why someone seeks to end their life in the first place? Why all the attempts to improve her life didn't work out? They literally think their daughter randomly stumbled upon this forum and was pushed into suicide after 8(!) posts. That doesn't sound very rational, doesn't it? And now they're running this personal vendetta against SS and running to every single news station on this planet to report about this apparently 'dangerous' and 'cultist' website when this couldn't be further from the truth. If you ask me, this is pure projection of their own failure.
It's also worth to mention that she was 25 years old. She was an adult. She made her own decisions.

This is just so sad, on so many levels.

I somewhat agree with you. I'd say close it, but not remove it. Most likely our enemies already have taken what they could to take it out of context and many good things were said, so it's better to keep it, but just not having anything new added.

Turns out you are on to something! She edited her page and removed the "happy coach" thingy. She clearly reads stuff here. Ignores the responses about the good and keeps pushing that ss is "evil".

Well coaches pushes the image that they know the solution and everything is ok in life without proper psychological training so they are not exactly qualified to treat the person of their real problem.
And they tend to be overpriced and act pretty narcisistic/egotistical like Tony Robbins saying he cured someone with depression...and love to delete or ignores comments that they don't agree.. It also happens to online snake oil sellers.

From a lucrative point...
A similar situation happened in Colombia with a singer called Legarda that died with a lost bullet and the family inmediately did merchandising with his phrases on instagram posing happily with the products. And even fought publicly against the exgirlfriend who was also trying to make money with the event.

I cann't even imagine what her parents feel, their reaction is clear and natural. But let's try to think logically, without emotions:

1. People voluntarily ended their lives always - and before the advent of computers, the Internet and electricity.
2. Sites like this must first be found somehow - they are not advertised everywhere. So she was looking for methods to CTB (in Google for example) and found this site. FIRST she had a desire to die and THEN she began to look for methods.
3. Do you seriously think that just reading some sites on the Internet you can take to decide to kill yourself? What is the true reason? You can do this experiment: read the same things, same texts that she read on this site - did you want to kill yourself now?
4. It can be blamed that detailed instructions and methods are written on the site - but people killed themselves without the help of instructions from any sites.

Journalists get paid to come up with articles. It's irresponsible of them not to leave the bereaved family in peace. When the family comes to better terms with their daughter's/sister's decision, when they've had some responsible counselling, they'll regret the broadcasting of their grief and their lashing out and the woman's private issues.

I wish them relief and comfort, compassion and understanding.
