Looks like green is ammonia per your chart, very strange. Maybe a contaminated test kit? The SN "looks" fine (visually) though..

As its indicating amonia I'd expect it to smell like amonia. Does it smell? Amonia has a distinct odour.

That chart is a little confusing because it also has ph values. Obviously you can't test for ph at the same time as something else witha colour test because it would need to display two colours for each range. You also don't check for ph (which measures the acidity or alkalinity) range alongside ppm (part per million) which is a quantity test. In fact, now I think about it, there should be a separate solution for every different item along the top of that list on the chart. So ph, high range ph, amonia, nitrite and nitrate. That's 5 separate solutions/reagents. Are you using the right one?

I think now my biggest fear is not the act itself but not being able to get quality product.

wereqryan, I was reading through your past posts, is this the same sn you tried a few granules of and got the headache and breathing difficulty back in January?
This post is almost identical to your post from September 28th when you tested the sn before just like you did this time...

Are you sure you used the nitrite testing kit?
It shouldn't show green since green is only used for testing the presence of ammonium and for the sn in water you could have used the PH testing kit by mistake, water has a PH of 7 and a ph of 7 shows as light blue in your PH testing kit

Read some 1-star reviews and 2-star. Try aquarium test kit of a known brand.

Buy a lancing machine and then draw some blood. Blood test is most effective in my opinion.

Aquarium test is highly ineffective. Plus the process is complicated and time consuming.

One step wrong and the whole process would be in vail. Blood test is the holy grail.

They are aquarium test kits for a reason. They are not test kit for you to test the purity of SN for you to Ctb . Are you a fish ????

I have one of these as I used to have an aquarium. You have different bottles to test different things, with different instructions. (Shaking bottle for x amount of time before putting a drop in, five drops vs one drop, etc) The green means they specifically used the ammonia bottle to test for ammonia. What are the odds the product he uses the wrong bottle on to test has high levels of ammonia? So many questions here
I also have packaged ammonia as I was trying to jump start one of the cycles on my tank. This is what it looks like and the various bottles with instructions. Ammonia has two. How would this show green if you did not use the improper bottles, and not just one, but two? It mixes for a reason.

Have you checked the expiration date btw? Things fulfilled by Jungle tend to sit in their warehouses. It's first in, first out basis there.

Your first batch of products that arrived at the warehouse will also be the first to go out the door when customers order them.
