Might end up being CO asphyxiation, too. Apparently, the dog was also dead. We'll have to wait and see. If it ends up being suicide related, it very well could be a murder/suicide scenario, since the wife was only in her sixties.

I see Michelle Trachtenberg is dead, too, at 39. No cause yet.

Guess the mystery has been solved. Sounds like one of the most bizarre situations I've ever heard of. The (younger) wife died possibly a week before he did from hantavirus. He died by natural causes from heart disease and probably didn't even know his wife had died because he was also suffering from advanced Alzheimer's disease. The dog probably died from starvation because it was in a locked cage and had just recently had a veterinarian procedure done. Two other dogs did not die. How's that for a bunch of coincidences?

While on the subject of celebrity death, what does everyone make of Michelle Trachtenberg's recent death? Here we have a young woman who just dies. According to reports, her family refused an autopsy. How can family refuse an autopsy in a case like this? Where's the investigation? How is it not pertinent to know how she died? How can they even rule out nefarious causes of her death without an autopsy? Seems like a big time cover-up of some sort just because she has money.

With Michelle Trachtenberg that was a surprise to me. I haven't kept up with celebrity gossip these days. So i hadn't seen that she had been looking very different in recent years. I remember her from: Harriet the Spy and Buffy. From the outside it seemed she had it all. Sounds like she suffered with some alcohol issues and her liver couldn't cope anymore. She also recently had a transplant. Sounds like she was being looked after by her mother. Possibly her new liver was rejected by her body. I figure that her family knew she was gravely ill. Autopsies are pretty brutal and take time to carry out and get results. Her family are Jewish and it's important to Bury the body quickly. They probably just wanted her to rest now. It's all very sad, she seemed really cool, beautiful and talented. Maybe because she recently had the transplant and she was so sick that an autopsy is unnecessary.

The police determined no foul play in Michelle's death, so I'm assuming that means it's up to the family if they wanted an autopsy or not. And, being rich and famous comes with a lot of benefits, so that helps too.

While it sheds light on the event, I still didn't think it was so easy to get out of an autopsy, unless someone who is sick is under end-of-life hospice care, which maybe she was. Very sad. Yeah, it came as a pretty big shock to me when I accidentally came across the news of her death while trying to learn more about Hackman's death. I'm a pretty big "Buffy" superfan, and although her character wasn't my favorite, and was even quite annoying at times, she did add quite a bit to the show. I've never seen her in anything else, though. Very sad. So young.
