i can rarely go out because of my anxiety, i can so relate. i've literally said those exact words, i live in a different world than everyone else. a world where ppl can go out, work, socialize, not have anxiety going to the pharmacy, being able to go out. i can rarely leave my home, i go days without saying a word. my world is so small. how do they do it? and why cant i be fixed so ican do it too?

I understand very well how you feel. I have social anxiety and haven't gone out with someone in years. It really feels like living on a different planet than most people. On Instagram I can see people going out and having fun, or travelling with their friends in nice places, even just going out in the city. All people I know irl do that, and it seems alien. Due to S.a. I've always remained at home and never developed the necessary social skills to live in this world, that all the others have learned organically by living. Now I feel left behind in the dust, while everyone I know is living their lives normally. How do people come together and decide where to go in vacation? Or simply choose a restaurant or a place to hang out? And actually have the courage to do these things? How do they even find the time to do it? Every day passes so fast for me... It's all a mistery. If a couple of years ago I still had hope that I could find some friends and bridge thid skill gap, now I realize there isn't any chance, this world is simply too fast for me.

I think you're capable of it, but your early-childhood programming is keeping you from it. That's my issue with it, anyway. So, maybe I'm just projecting.

Agreed, extremely difficult to find real friends. by luck, I do have a couple of friends. there might be people out there who'd become your real friends. but really can't guarantee. if you don't have friends left over from your younger days, finding friends might be like winning the lottery. it's more of a wrong place wrong time scenario.

Completely alone. Don't have a car so even when I'm not working I'm stuck in my apartment. I can call a coworker for a ride, but if they're busy I'm sol. I don't even have anyone I can text who will respond. My wife was my biggest connection to the outside and she left.

I lost almost all my friends. I was down to a few friends who still checked in on me. But because they were so rare, I was clingy, and I threw everything on them. I ended up being too much for them and they've abandoned me, too.

I'm married, but you'd hardly be able to tell. We've both made mistakes and our relationship is a shadow of what it used to be. I think he's only with me because he doesn't know what else to do. I'm still with him because I plan to die soon, so what's the point of leaving? We basically spend our time on separate floors of the house.

And now I have no friends to share any of my feelings or frustrations about my marriage, which should be the strongest relationship in my life. So even though I'm married and there's always someone around, I feel more lonely than I ever have before.

Even with "friends" I feel like that. Always having to put up a bubbly appearance is exhausting, but u know if u stop acting like that people won't want to be your friend anymore and you'll be "too much" for them.
