That's not the purpose of the site though, 99% of people serious about CTB know instinctly the quickest and most reliable method is a simple bit of rope.

By having broader discussions, it gives people time to stop and reflect on life, see if they can go on.

No one actually needs to know how to CTB, humans intuitively know.

I know what it's like to absolutely hate and reject what you have and to want something you can never have.

I didn't intuitively know how to ctb. I had to learn effective methods here.

Despite of my self-depreciating nickname, I don't get the whole point of beating oneself up for "not being able to ctb like a normal person would". We are preprogrammed with survival instinct. So are plants, bacteria and animals. Some people of course do commit suicide, but some fail or don't try, even though they don't want to live. Why would anything here be more normal or less normal? If self-hate could kill, plenty of people here would be dead. Well, it is unfortunate that some people live despite of the fact that they don't want to. Certainly. Our grumpy brains are parts of our grumpy bodies, and hating oneself for the fear of dying makes as much sense as hating oneself for eating, then for the fact that after eating due to how the GI tract works some shit is produced, then hating oneself for feeling thirsty, and few hours later hating oneself for turning water into urine thanks to the kidneys etc. It isn't an appealing way to exist, and despite of the fun that comes sometimes from being sentient and having a body, I would rather not exist, thank you very much. But getting all upset because everything works exactly as programmed doesn't sound reasonable at all.

That part is outrageous. They give all kinds of lip service about saving lives and do nothing to ensure that people will find their lives worth living in the first place. Want to keep people alive? Improve their quality of life first. End homelessness. Help people get out of crippling debt. Help people get jobs that give them meaning and purpose. Pass laws that protect marginalized people from discrimination. Acknowledge people's mental health while dealing with pandemics like COVID. Help people build communities. These are all CONCRETE matters of public policy that cannot be solved through bullshit platitudes like "It Gets Better." (God, I fucking hate Dan Savage for so many reasons. I ran a leftist anti-Dan-Savage Tumblr many years back.) Nor can they be solved by locking people up in psych wards and shoving them with medications instead of fucking LISTENING TO THEM and trying to understand why they're fucking suicidal in the first place. Instead, people are just treated as though they're insane and irrational for rejecting the "gift" of life.
To summarise: More is done about suicide prevention itself rather than the issues that lead to suicidal thoughts and ideation.

In my desperation to CTB, I felt less alone by joining this forum, this is the only place I could express it. There was support for my situation, whereas in my real life there are only people who want to stop it. I already knew many of the methods because I have the PPH.

i wish there was a button to push and id be long gone.
Same. Even with the button it wouldn't be 'an easy way out', now it's just impossibly difficult.

The truth is this site is full of people that need to talk about something that they cannot do IRL without the fear of losing their freedom and a place in which they can find ways to end their suffering. In my opinion at the very least even if I couldnt find connections to other people in here, my opinion is this site at least gave me some peace. The peace I didnt have when I didnt know there were easier methods to CTB. Now even if my life still sucks I feel I know I can always pull the trigger and escape it which is a relief.
Yes, censorship never did any good. Here we can be more honest about reality that the majority try to avoid thinking about. Many users said they found this place therapeutic.

I wish govts would just let us go. They don't care about us - and the time and money they put into preventing us from getting hold of substances like N which would allow for our peaceful and dignified deaths increasingly seems less like mere stupidity and more like cruelty.
It's societal cruelty to impose unrealistic views about the world and condemn us to brutal suicide methods, so we don't ruin these illusions for them.

Personally this site is anything but a waste of time. I find it a little bit ironic - complaining about a forum where it seems you are frustrated at other members not following through on their ctb plans. And yet I'm sure you've had the benefits of the extensive resources about methods and you are free to leave at anytime.
