its because women are way more valuable from a biological perspective and everything we do is to reproduce and continue our genes. You only need 5 men and a 100 females to create a functioning society.

Yeah, exactly. Men are more likely to use a violent and more reliable method, women are more likely to overdose or cut. With such a high successful male suicide rate due to this maybe some people are less shocked by those events.
