I feel like a state of nothingness would be my ideal conclusion. No pain, no ego, just cut to black.

The concept of any afterlife seems subpar to me, mainly because I can't really come to terms with what eternity means.

Reincarnation seems somewhat bit appealing at first, but the gamble is who you end up as. There are far too many terrible human experiences to make the odds worthwhile in my opinion. Even getting lucky with an easy life wouldn't change the problems I have with the world as a whole - especially if there is any "me" left in the new body. And if there is any me left, I know I would be miserable just like now.

Like you said, statistically speaking, if any of us get reincarnated we'd more than likely end up worse off than we are now. I can admit that as much as I hate my country, I'm privileged enough to have not been born in a third world country at least. Controversially I would actually like to be reincarnated if there would be a guarantee that I would be born into a life that fixed most of my problems. I think that I would probably struggle with depression still, but it wouldn't be at the level that it is now, especially if I had a good support system in this hypothetical life.

Gambling is less risky than reincarnation. No way. I prefer nothingness.

No, never, under any circumstance, not happening.
The cycle of reincarnation is hell everyone's been talking about for centuries: godless existence for the purpose of meaningless entertainment.
I'm no gambler or savior and I feel numb to physical pleasures of this world. The Void of Nothingness it is. I just want to go Home.

No, never, all I want is the peace of non-existence where this torturous, futile existence that I just always saw as a mistake is finally all gone and forgotten, to me existence will just always be an abomination that just causes all of this cruelty, pain and suffering with no limit as to how much one can be tortured and to suffer in this existence will always be so deeply undesirable in every way. All that existence ever does is just torture existing beings and if it's up to me I'd just choose to erase this existence so it's like I never suffered at all, non-existence truly is all I see as positive in this existence of terrible torturous suffering that just never should had been imposed at all.

I gues it would be funny to get reincarnated as a stereotypical isekai hero and go on adventures with your harem of catgirls or whatever. But no, I would not want to be reincarnated. I just want to cease existing.

It would be cool to get reincarnated. If I could choose I'd tone down my dreaming a tad bit. It's the constant desire for something more that's ironically been the source of much of the dissatisfaction in life. Maybe I'd reincarnate as a simple bird or something, all I'd worry about is getting food and flying around

Only way I'd want to is if I was reincarnated as a fly. Just annoying the living shit out of people until I get squished.

If I did actually believe in it, I still wouldn't be worried, being born as literally anyone else would be an upgrade from who I am right now

Although I wouldn't want to be born at an earlier time in history. Or in a place where I have no prospects

As an atheist, I see this as a nonsensical question. After death, the body is just biological compost quickly colonized by the bacteria already present in the body. There's no mind or existence after this for the previously living being.

To redo life in a less dystopian time than this age we live in, seems not a bad proposition. Or perhaps I'd come back as a pigeon and shit all over humanity...

Only if I were guartanteed a reality which functions in dramatically different ways than our own. That's impossibile, of course, but reincarnation itself is.

Yes but only if I was born the head and not the tail. I would like to experience life from a completely different view than the one forced on me by abusive controlling people in power. I would love to reincarnated as someone with beauty and brains, to a good family with privileges and wealth and options to make choices in life.

Does it involve keeping memories from your old life ?

I have thought about this countless times. If it was possible I would love to be reincarnated as a cis woman (i am mtf).

Extreme Pain is much worse than people know
Aug 12, 2019

pain can be a billion times worse than the worst thing one can imagine

so i would never want to risk suffering the worst pain nor even any extreme pain or suffering

it's the same reason why I don't want to continue to live

I would never want another second or minute of life or existence or consciousness

boggles my mind that they have almost all humans even many on here not believing this. and not believing that any minute a human lives something extremely horrible can happen to the individual

this question seems to assume there is a possibility of reincarnation.

no evidence has ever been shown about any reincarnation or afterlife

using tech and instruments for hundreds of years many people have tried to find evidence for a soul afterlife or reincarnation. nothing has ever been detected

these are totally fictional made up abstract concepts that mean nothing.

it's not even logical to me

if something has no evidence no observations not even any details and totally violates all the laws of physics then it's not true

reincarnation are just a few words that mean different things to different people

the way you define something is you provide books with pages of details as evolution cell biology brain science physics chemistry have done. these sciences completely contradict any existence of a soul reincarnation afterlife or anything supernatural

if someone reads books on such sciences u see how all the parts fit together and make sense some of which u can test

no books on the details of reincarnation etc exist. only words from humans that seek to gain attention or views or sell a book

the fact is After Death is Non-existence forever which to me is the best thing.

every one of the 8 billion humans alive now will be dead in 130 years and obliterated for all time. it will happen soon too because how fast did the last 5 years fly by?

so life is insignificant even more so when you look at the timeline of the universe over trillions of years the tiny blip of 80 years won't even register

Some religions, if I'm not mistaken Buddhism says that: you will reborn, in another life or your same life, till you get it right.

Meaning that you will be reborn and be tested on the same mistakes you mad in the previous life. Once you live a life "right" then you'll reach the afterlife in peace and won't reborn again, or, maybe reborn in the kind of life that fulfills you the most.

Realistically speaking, there is no evidence except some stories (like the Indian kid that remembered his past family, where they lived, his old friends etc and that's documented but not so sure about it) but no one can actually testify for it.

From my perspective, it's like sleeping: you sleep > nothingness > wake up.

You dont know how much time passes, but hey, maybe you'll really wake up in another life or maybe your same life and have the chance to do it again WHO KNOW?

I just wanna end it man, afterlife, honestly speaking it's just some kind of marketing stunt that religions gave to people to make them hope and go through the suffering of life...
