like trying to OD drugs so many times and other stuffs that can lead only to a more suffering life but also there's a possibly the person could find hope.. i have a friend who i can't even imagine the pain they have to endure and the many failed attempts took a toll for the rest of their life (i can't imagine too living like they) but they now keep striving and in a way much better mentally psychologically perhaps recovered in a way but not physically.

It seems to be a huge dilemma.I would want them to know about the site in hopes that it grants them a sanctuary to vent and seek guidance for their issues, however, it seems to be a huge responsibility, for me based on my religion, in case something happens. That is why I think that it's best for them to seek the site on their own without any one's interference. If it is in their destiny, then they undoubtedly will find it.

If they were a suicidal person, content with their decision to ctb, then yes absolutely. SaSu has been an incredibly nice outlet for me, and I've loved hearing from new people and talking to new friends.

If this person was just depressed or just started contemplating suicide I'd at the very least hesitate in regards to sharing the site. I can see how its a double edged sword at times, and I would rather not give anti therapy and anti mental help biased views to someone who hasnt experienced either.

I'd recommend this subforum to anyone curious about the traps of existing in this world. They don't have to be suicidal

your answer is exactly the same as my friend here.

@Electronic Music

I probably should add more details..
err the person does get mental help, what makes it complicated is the ED (among others which is a great deal of suffering).. they did get mental help, and i asked if the meds helps.. they said yes.. but it cause weight gain so they stop taking it.. and i know it's really complicated for ED..
another factor is that the person imo is kinda very impulsive / easily triggered which i can understand considering things.

but thanks guys for the replies..

I wouldn't recommend if they're impulsive. There are instructions on the site that could make a vulnerable and impulsive person perform personal acts on themself. The website is for those who want to talk about suicide without judgement, and definitely wouldn't be a good idea for someone who would perform CTB with the help of info here while in a crisis. If they weren't impulsive and easily triggered I would recommend it, as the site allows you to freely talk about such taboo topics, get advice and opinions and even help.

A story that has been left untold

I remember one night my old and good friend has sent me few audio messages, crying and saying that her parents had a terrible fight (which is unusual for them, this is the first time it was so severe) and one of them broke something in rage. I think her mother was in tears. And my friend runs out to a river (it's really close to their home and a deep one with strong current). She sat there sending this messages and told that she wishes to just jump into the river, that maybe it will finally end it all.

To say I was in a panic would be a light statement. It was nighttime and I didn't know if I could catch a taxi to her place, it also would be half an hour ride, hence it was close on the outskirts and I didn't remember the exact location. Luckily, after some time talking to her through phone she was able to calm down and return home. She and her mother did some cleaning and things seem to settle down.

Even before and after that I always encouraged my close friends to keep fighting, to keep living and didn't let them drown in depressive state of mind. Because I know how terrible it feels and don't want them to go through something like this. And they were actually grateful for that. And I was lucky to witness how they achieved their goals and overcome difficulties, not without tears, but still they are strong.

I know it will sound controversial to the beliefs of people here, but I would never recommend this site to anyone. Even if they are struggling, I always do my best to make them see the bright side of themselves. Yes themselves, not a life. Life, and people, who surrounds you, can be shitty, but I rather focus on the individual because who knows, maybe they actually are worth living, just can't see it themselves. Not encouraging pro-life, just don't want people to be overly judgmental to themselves.

I honestly don't know. I wouldn't want to feel responsible if they got the info they needed from this site to ctb. But then I've found great comfort here and want them to experience that too. I think I would keep it to myself and let them find it naturally like I did.

Hmmmm, I'm not sure. Maybe it's hypocritical of me but I don't think I would share it. I think if you want to find your way to this website, you will find it on your own.

I wouldn't on the sole basis that I wouldn't want anyone I know to that I use it or risk being found out. It would feel weird if someone I knew was reading my posts or at least knew I was one of the posters here. I could say I don't have an account on here but it's best to not take any risks.

no, even though i personally love this site and am glad i found my way here. i think it would be best if they found the site themselves or a similar formate themselves. as i do not want to be blamed and don't know if i couldn't take the guilt if they ended up ctb before i :)

Only help them find their peace seak for help how to skip their trauma etc you giving them ways to finish everything is really just adding to their problem and in the opinion of many ( I'm not included) might be one of their reasons to leave

Yea, I would, if as by your title they are going to ctb then it doesn't make a difference anyway, if I tell them then at least they can maybe feel a little bit more at ease about leaving, being able to talk to the kind people on here and share their pain.

People who are set on ctb'ing are going to ctb, one way or the other.
Knowing about SaSu doesn't make a difference really.
