Ironically this held me back for a time, I am an organ donor... at least on my ID -- but as others have said, they wouldn't get to me in time if I CTB'd. I feel guilty about it. I have pretty good blood and organs - it's just my muscles and joints and brain that are fucked up, and maybe my stomach... I really wish I could voluntarily give them to someone in need and pass my life forward! But we're not in a perfect world.

This thread was an interesting read, especially the idea of offering euthanasia in return for organ donation. I think honestly that would be morally wrong, if someone needs euthanasia then in any way making it more likely in exchange for the person doing something so very personal they might not be comfortable with is just not the way.

I live in a country with presumed consent for organ donation which I think is so wrong. It's framed as giving more people the ability to help others but all it actually does is takes organs from people without explicit and enthusiastic consent. If someone wanted their organs donated they could have spent two minutes to say so, presuming you have consent to do anything to someone's body is abhorrent.

Anyways, for me, I've opted out. I shouldn't have had to, but I did. When I die I need to know that all of this is dead. I have competing worries, the first is an OCD worry that I'm going to infect a good person, and the second is that I'm going to save a bad one. When I die, I don't want either worry in my head.
