Prefix: I am not religious in the sense that I subscrive to a single religion and its beliefs. I do however believe there is a Creator, some kind of higher intelligence that called everything into being somehow. You may label me agnostic, perhaps. I have read into many different belief systems and I seem to find a red thread that runs through them all.

For this thought experiment I would like to use the Bible. In the Bible it is written that we, as humans, are in a fallen state. We might be fragments of Lucifer that get to roam around in a Godless society praying and lamenting in hopes of being saved. People that die over their beliefs supposedly go to Heaven/Valhalla/Nirvana or any other form of positive afterlife. Those who remain unbelievers get to go to Hell. If I look around in the world, it's nothing short of brutal. Of course there are ways to make your existence liveable, enjoyable, bareable - but not for everyone. There's wars, famine, natural disasters, heck even seasons and our meat suit deteriorates as time passes by and we are plagued by all kinds of diseases, discomforts and issues with it. The 'weeping and gnashing of teeth' seems to be universal, no matter what status you carry. Sure there's better and worse, but basically all beings go through suffering in their lives. So who's to say this is not Hell?

It also is written many times over 'Do not fear'. Catching the bus is a pretty fear-inducing thing. If I juxtapose what is written with the act of suicide it could be interpreted that you shouldn't fear exiting the meat suit and perhaps it's a one way ticket of Hell. I am aware that the Bible tells us that murder is a sin, however murder is the unlawful killing of a human being. As far as I am aware the act of suicide is not prohibited by law and would therefore not necessarily be considered to be murder.

I might sound insane, because I probably am, but I'm lowkey trying to prove to myself that a righteous suicide might be a ticket ouf the Hell we're living in. People who say they love life and make their lives into a heavenly experience, I am happy for them, but if they look outside of themselves there's no denying that this world has endless amounts of needless suffering and we're in a constant fight for survival.

Any thoughts, ideas, opinions? I'm hoping for some interesting debate or perspectives. I'm curious as to what people on SaSu might think of this view.

This world is hell. If it wasn't for everything humans invented to escape the nature of 'animals' 'humans' killimg eachoter to eat and survive we would still be in the state of the tortures cruel game of nature. We are all being decieved from this by the daily routine and the horrors kept away from us in slaughter houses, medical centers and graveyards. Only a small percentage we get to see now of how cruel this world really is.

We are also on a fireball, with a small crust flying in outer darkness without the possibilities to escape, away from any higher being or god. That's kindy how hell is explained in the most common believe systems.

If you see it you can't unsee it.

Sadly the people with there eyes open will be called insane by the other who are in denial. Called depressed, psychotic, personality disorders bla bla bla.

It is not a blessing to see the world for how it is. I wish i could close my eyes and live peacefully in ignorance. But if you really start to compare and think about what life really is you become suicidal by itself.

I hope to leave this hell relatively peacefull🤘

Surely, existence itself is a curse in this present world, it feels as if the lease is on the lose and the lunatics and manics are trying everything to undo whatever we achieved as a race in 75 years. Them being present in the decision table, will surely send us back to the dark ages as we are witnessing itself for now

I've always been an agnostic. Is there a creator? Possibly. As a regular, flawed mortal man I can't say for certain what created all this. I can look at what scientists say, but the questions are unanswerable from our point of view and always will be I'm sure. Why are we here? How did we get here? Nobody knows. Maybe something created all this. The older I get the more I believe in intelligent design. Surely all of this isn't random.

What is consciousness? How did it form? Why are we able to think and feel the way we do? I don't know. All questions I'll have for the creator when/if I meet them. Not that they'll give a shit what I have to ask. Just one soul amongst untold billions. Whether I CTB or die naturally I'll get to that point either way. If I CTB will I be destined for Hell? As the OP said, is this world not close to Hell? Granted my life isn't so bad. I just fucked it up with my own stupid decisions and actions. I could have had a better life. I just wasn't a good enough person to reach that. I think some people are screwed up and aren't fit to live on this planet. Not through their own failings (at least not always) but because some people are born into the wrong life, the wrong situation, or the wrong time and they aren't equipped to handle the world as it is.

If I CTB to escape this failure of an existence what happens? The way I see it, death is like permanent, blissful oblivion. A step up from sleep. When you're gone there is no passage of time. If there is a Hell you'll find out. But I assume that death is just nothingness. That's what it was for me during the supposed billions of years that came before I was born, and it will be for the billions to trillions of years after I am dead. Time is meaningless to someone who can't experience it. I don't recall anything but this life.

But if there is another life after this, or another form of existence in some way, you will get there immediately. Again the passage of time will go instantly for you. If there is anything after this, whether it's Valhalla, Nirvana, Purgatory, Heaven, Hell, another timeline, another universe, another life, you will get there right after you die. If such a thing exists. If not it will just be nothing. I guess I take some comfort in thinking Hell is just one of many possible outcomes after this life. We'll see. No matter what we all die someday so we'll all find out what's on the other side.

It's so strange to read of someone wording out how I've felt for very long, ever since I was a kid I believed that this world was some kind of punishment, that if "god" existed and put us here it had to be for a negative reason..
I don't believe in God necessarily but I do consider myself a spiritual person, I stopped believing in God when I went to a Catholic kindergarten and was beaten and punished for being a "child of dthe devil", which I couldn't understand and shunned the nuns for.. But besides that

I've always seen Christians fear that suicide will lead them to hell, but realistically what can be worse than this place? And to add, didn't this theoretical Jesus "die for our sins"? I've often seen his death considered a suicide of sorts since he did not stop it and embraced it

Plus what do we know about dying anyway? Only the dead know what it's like to be dead, and I've seen enough stories of NDE that often speak of similar or same things

i agree with this. for most people on this planet earth life involves a lot of suffering, thats why a certain amount of "healthy" delusion is neccessary for survival and mental well-being in this world. i think people like us just can't unsee what we have already seen and it causes us a lot of suffering. i could never close my eyes on the amount of excruciating pain and suffering going on in this world right this second, right as im typing this reply. my heart hurts so much

i hate when ppl tell me to just ignore it and focus on my life--how? why? i am still a part of this world. how can I continue to happily participate in it while knowing how much suffering is all around me? i truly believe we are in some version of hell. the only people that hold a different opinion seem to either come from very privileged and sheltered backgrounds or their brain somehow is able to generate enough copium to go on living.

honestly I feel kind of bad for people who feel hopeful and want to live. the world is going to shit every year and there is no telling how many global disasters are ahead of us. it must suck to look at this world while still having hope, it seems soul-crushing. i hope the afterlife is peaceful at least.

It's nice to be able to relate on these things. For some reasons all the people I come across in real life just can't. They're just doing their thing subscribing to one thing or the other, but seemingly failing to see a bigger picture, a more encompassing perspective.

My heart hurts too, though recently I've been walling it off. I am just reaching the end of my capacity to feel it all.

I have a hard time accepting that, too. Though given the state I'm in my biological programming for survival is left wishing for a 'normal' life, albeit ignorant. Then again, who knows what judgement or regret one would feel once it all ends for them. Maybe we're doing the life review in real time, while others wait it out until the absolute end? I don't know.

I don't feel bad for them. They'll get what's theirs whether good or bad. Everybody is reckoned in the end, of that much I am sure. Ignorance truly is bliss, until one can't be ignorant anymore.
