I might become homeless in the near future. Is there even a point of becoming Homeless or should I really try to succeed CTB before this inevitability occurs and save myself some dignity?

I live in a cold place that drops below -20c routinely. So it's be hell to be outside.

Has anyone else been through this? Any perspective is welcome.

I've been homeless but I followed the good weather like a hobo. I wouldn't ever want to be homeless where's it's always super cold.
Doesn't mean CTB is the only option - relocation is what I'd suggest.
Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose

one of my friends and i had run away when we were young teens. We were homeless for a month. it was absolutely horrible, especially cause we lived in a rainy but not too cold area. After a week you do get used to it but it still sucks nonetheless. You realize how bad things really are. Everyone is disgusted to look at you and they treat you horribly. i would ctb before i had to that again but im already suicidal. to some people its not as bad. you might want to go to a homeless shelter but they are pretty uncomfortable and you might get bedbugs, lice, etc. if you can manage to get a train or plain ticket to another place thats warmer you should do it. It's really your choice, i wish you the best.

I'm about to go through this next month. I'm a full-time student too so i don't qualify for welfare, nor do i qualify for student loans anymore so i ave to work a dead-end job to at least put a roof over my head.

I already don't have any motivation to get out of bed, I'm behind in schoolwork (I'm in my final year of engineering school and refuse to take any longer to graduate, been in uni for an eternity already) the temperature fluctuates between -15 and -25C recently. Honestly? I'm increasingly comfortable with the idea of ctb this weekend. (TBF even if it wasn't facing homelessness I'd still be considering it but this kinda reinforces my choice) Nothing holds me in life, let alone enough to struggle just to survive then live a life of mediocrity

You are right. I'm always in denial about how bad things got due to being homeless. I felt I needed protection but the ones who harmed me most were the boyfriends I thought would keep me safe. It's better to stay alone as a woman which is also a different paranoia and isolation state to be in.

I guess this depends a lot on where you life. In my country there are a few places that help homeless people and make sure they have a place to sleep in the winter. (Though i am not sure if there are enough available)

Considering that, no i wouldn't.

I'd be homeless. But if it's super cold I'm not sure I'd be able to cope

It depends on the country and circumstances, but being homeless can be temporary, while death is permanent.

I suppose I would try to see how things go before making a final decision.

Is just my opinion.

It's only a matter of time till I run out of money and lose my apartment. If that happens im not going to have much of a choice. I will not be homeless.
