I feel like climate change and the overall state of our planet is kinda encouraging me that ctb is actually a smart decision. It's better than going through what will come in the next 50 years.
I'm not only facing 50 years of the usual 9-5, depression, anxiety and suicidality but on top of that literally unlivable temperatures in my homeland, or probably europa as a whole. The past few days in germany were torture.

After isolating in my apartment for 2 days and swetting like hell i went to work, thinking i'll get some fresh air because i thought my apartment must be hotter than outside because i have no AC. When i went out i couldnt believe how hot it was. It really felt like i stept into a oven or something. My eyes felt like someone put a lighter close to them. I don't even want to imagine how wild animals must feel since they are outside 24/7. Thinking about how it will be in 50 years... i mean... it wouldn't be so ceazy to say, that humans will go extinct in 100 years. It will be very very scary times for us all. Just in 5-10 years it will already be scary and every summer it gets worse

Each country has retirement obligations for its people, which operate like ponzi schemes.
So they need more people.
The poorest nations produce the most people. They then need more infrastructure. Also they export people. Overall population and the reduction of green spaces continue. It all demands energy.
It seems like we should be pushing for less people everywhere. But we do the opposite.

I don't think there has ever been nor that there will be a time when extinction isn't the answer. Even if we somehow learn to live in total harmony, which is never happening. there's still natural disasters, threats and accidents that can fuck up someone's life

They say we should have more babys, because they are worried for their buisnesses, but people don't give a damn. We are having less kids all over the world. I think it's because everyone feels the impending doom. Everything seems to go down hill. Mental health, economy, population. We witness alot more wars than some years ago. It doesn't feel right to bring a baby in the current state of the world we're in. Even "normal" people are starting to think this way, not just anitnatalist

I have a friend who is pregnant for twins...i kept wondering 2 myself like why would you bring children in this world regardless of its current state... I just felt sad for the not yet born souls

Having less kids in the world isnt even justifiable....procreation must be effectively banned coz just think about...life is just a never ending cycle of suffering and repetition...its extremely not worth bringing an innocent soul to suffer for the rest of its life

I've been feeling this too. I've had antinatilist sentiments for a while but, during this recent/ current heatwave- they make such practical sense.

I saw on TV that in just 25 years time, great bands of the earth will become far more difficult to inhabit. I do have work colleagues who have recently given birth. I just wonder what they think this world will be like when that child reaches their mid twenties- when we're already struggling now- with extremes of weather and environmental disasters. It just baffles me how they think their children will cope both with the changing environment and the precarious job market.

I actually really like these people so, I hope with everything I have that they and their families will be ok but, inside I'm grimacing.

It's completely selfish to have a baby now. It is really as simple as that. Every baby that is born in 2026 is just doomed. They get maybe like 10 good years until the shit hits the fan out here
