Why do we reproduce at this point ?

You can't stop people from reproducing because they'll call it eugenics.
Sex is not related to reproduction. If this was true, I'd have hundreds of children. lol
Millions of people rely on IVF to conceive children. Birth control options include vasectomy and tubal ligation.
There is no reason for people to reproduce if they do not want to, and birth control will make your sex life more enjoyable!
I asked my husband to have a vasectomy. You can do it too!
This is not meant to be interpreted as ant-children, as I believe children deserve unconditional love, two mature parents, and respect. My reason for not having them is that I don't want to be trapped with a man because we have children
Children aren't see as people to most parents. They are things that they can use to play around with and filled the voids within them. Children are one of the most dehumanized demographics in the world but nobody wants to talk about it. We allow parents to physically assualt them under the guise of "disicipline", to disrespect their boundaries, to not listen or value their opinions, and more and then we wonder why so many children end up growing up to be dysfunctional adults
When you have a child you have gone on to uphold part of society's expectations of you. Your entire personality becomes the fact that you are a parent and people around you will act as though you've accomplished this huge feat, when in reality all you probably did was have sex. Having a child is one hell of an ego trip for most people and children are so young and vulnerable that they can be easily used for your own gain.
Reproduction occurs when you want to have children or engage in sexual activity without using birth control, increasing your chances.
People can have children medically without engaging in sexual activity.
You can even ignore my birth control preference! You can have a lot of sex without ever reproducing. Oral, anal, sex play. homosexual sex, or infertility, including inability to conceive or ovulate.
A virgin is a person who has never had intercourse. It is possible to have very good sex yet remain a virgin. lol
Men have high sex drives though. The biological purpose/reason of sex is still to procreate. Even if sex was obsolete and unnecessary, people would still have it because it gives them pleasure
The way I see it, people have children to revitalize their will to live after adulthood crushes something in their spirit. Imo this is why many parents live vicariously through their kids.

I think this, much like many other common social norms, roots from the (usually religious) idea that sex is sacred, and should only be done for the purpose of reproduction. It's why mormonism is anti contraceptives and condoms. Lots of more conservative people believe that sex = kids and if you're doing it for any other reaosn it is then wrons

Like not like , but it's so fitting. . . it's a mean world out here. I sympathize with those who want to revitalize their spirit but hope they should possess th critical thinking skills to assess what they have to offer the child in life and I find it so creepy when moms post kids on social media with what I've gone through maybe I have some bias.
Hate seeing kids online just makes me so angered it's like a cesspool of terror on the internet and I don't feel kids should be exposed to it

"I want someone to love me unconditionally" = I will create a being completely dependent on me so that it is obliged to love me.
"I want to extend my bloodline" = My genetics are so great they deserve to be replicated.
"I want to pass on my values and beliefs/I want a human to mold" = My beliefs and values are so important that I am justified in forcing them on to another person.
"I want someone to look after me when I'm old" = I deserve to have someone obligated to take care of me in my old age.
"I want to make the world a better place" = I think it's important society is improved, but instead of doing it myself I'll make someone else do it.
"I want someone to have the opportunities/dream I didn't" = A child should be exposed to suffering and misery so that they can live out my unfulfilled dream.
I personally don't see reproduction as an act that is hard to avoid. I saw some people here saying "it's evolution, humans have a biological imperative to reproduce, it's like survival instinct" but I disagree. We have a biological urge to have sex, because it's fun. If anything, evolution shaped sex to be fun so there would be reproduction. Humans just have found ways to have the fun but not the downside if we want. Think about it. Why is giving birth such a painful experience? Why are babies screaming and crying as they are born? There is no evidence of biological imperative to reproduce, in an any species. Our concept of the "biological imperative" is based on the human assumption that because some humans want to reproduce (and this want is very strongly tied to social/religious pressures) that all species want to reproduce. Out in nature, the kangaroo can't use condoms. The aardvark can't ask for an abortion. The cow isn't smart enough to know how to take a vow of celibacy. For them, reproduction is an accident. The fact that humans invented things like contraception, abortions or abstinence/celibacy is evidence that's disproves any inherent want/need to reproduce. People reproduce because of narcissism, religion, and social pressure. Because it's so normalized in society, people expect you to reproduce. It's the highest form of narcissism.

Life is a pointless, undeserved, unnecessary pain.
Those with dark triad traits, malignant narcissists and sadistic sociopaths, whom people of both sexes find to be the most attractive and charismatic personalities by the way, are hyper-breeders.
It is amazing that a notorious psychopath, a woman's rapist and a serial killer like Ted Bundy, for instance, managed to make lots of woman fall in love for him, in spite of all the nefarious crimes he commited. He even married one of them and had a child with her while he was in death row.
Humans have scrambled eggs for brains.

People have high sex drives because sex feels good and is fun. It just so happens that sex is the way that reproduction happens. Therefore, nature made sex fun so that people would reproduce

people often have children without realising just how much pain and neglect they're passing down onto their innocent little lives. either that or the condom broke. I don't know.

Same. Those family vlogging videos on YouTube piss me off so much. It's like The Truman Show but in real life. I can't imagine how it must feel having your entire childhood posted online for millions of people to see.
Yeah, definitely instinct. Cats have barbed penises, and once I learned that, it terrified me and made me realize they only have sex because instinct tells them too.
Humans share 90% of their dna with cats so considering that cats mate so loud and painful, I guess humans would still reproduce anyway, although there would be a lot less humans on this planet compared to now.
Cats are hormonally driven to have sex in order to reproduce. Which make it all the more fucked up, knowing that it's always painful for the female. Nature sucks.

Humans mate for pleasure. Cats don't mate for pleasure, but for reproduction. Survival of the fittest. The one male that can fertilise the most females wins the gene contest.
Also, animals have a relatively small brain size. The cerebral cortex is significantly larger in humans than in any other animal and is responsible for higher thought processes such as reasoning, abstract thinking, and decision making. Which means that humans have the capability to think about the pros and cons of reproduction, which other animals aren't capable of.

Think of the stereotype of a 'deadbeat baby-daddy' with five little runts with five different trashy women. Or the welfare queen mom that spits 'em out for checks to support a meth habit and keeps them locked in a room with a only a box of cereal per week to barely keep them alive till she can try and force them to work and take care of her.
You forgot to mention the deadbeat world's number one billionaire-daddy with eleven children he had with fancy women... Who named their child X Æ A-Xii just because he thought that it was a funny meme or that it sounded really good as a tech brand name.
Oh, "dear God"... I feel so sorry for those kids having a SpaceDick for a father... Him being filthy rich doesn't cut it.
A world that has a manipulative dork like Elon Musk as one of it's most powerful, richest, persons calling the shots is definitely not the best of possible worlds but a mediocre, evil, pathetic, decadent, one!

Regarding Elon the only thing that truly bothers me is this desire to create a world with shit like Neuralink.
Brain-Computer Interfaces are a real, here-today tangible method for making the concept of "hell" as we worst imagine it and more a reality, including dilating perception of time to ensure it will feel like an eternity even if it is not.
The chances such technology would not be used for this kind of evil is pretty much zero. Point blank. Cannot be prevented. Better to die by suicide once it becomes more commonplace just as a precaution to avoid suffering risks. It could create an artificial heaven too. Who wants to take that chance though?
