Why do people record themselves?

This might be a stupid question, but why do people record themselves CTB? Not trying to be judgmental, just curious because I personally am terrified of someone seeing or finding me in my lowest moment. I'm sure the reasons vary from person to person, but what are some reasons someone may want to record / stream their exit?

I have several reasons I want to record or stream my hanging. It's like having a witness to your humanity and your full right to make that choice. There is also internal reasons that I won't share, but it has a lot of just feeling like the right way I want to end it - people watching me

I kinda want to stream it to at least make my death useful somehow, leaving behind studying materials for the forum and such.

But ultimately I decided it's not worth doxxing myself and my family and I especially do not want to traumatize my 2 nephews who might stumble upon the video as they grow older.

The description of the bus ride in the peace pill book and the video of this event are slightly different things. Such people help others to think better about their decision, change their way, point of view, or just be more confident and calm. I'm grateful to them for bothering to do this.

That's completely fair as well. My main fear is someone I know seeing it. Idk but I just feel sort of.. embarrassed i guess about my urges to CTB.

My ideal would be to just kinda disappear from existence. Go missing and never be found.

Maybe they feel so alone or invisible that this last moment being seen is comforting. Whether they do it to simply be remembered or to share their experience to those who come after.

Personally I have thought about it. Having my last moment at my lowest and most vulnerable something I have feared being my last act is somewhat freeing. But having family who could see it or lead back to them and haunt them. I don't want to cause them any more trouble.

Most do it as a way to contribute to the knowledge of the method they choose. Some do it as a final way to say goodbye through film.

It really just depends on the individual and their situation.

There's something kinda bittersweet about someone sharing for the knowlege of others. But it's appreciated nonetheless.

Having my last moment at my lowest and most vulnerable something I have feared being my last act is somewhat freeing.

I can kind of see why it would be freeing in a sense. Ultimately I hope that they found peace in that feeling of being seen.

I agree it's one of the reasons I want witnesses or to do it on video

I'd never given it much thought, but I just assumed it was a way to help educate others and let them know what to expect if they choose to CTB via the same method. Reading these replies, I can see a few other perspectives on it now.

It is possible their lowest moment is just before recording their exit.
The exit might be their high point and they wish to share that moment of triumph.
Leaving a "how to" video is nice too. Show those with questions how it gets done.
