Like I could ask a fucking question and I'll get several people not answering the question and just making unfunny as fuck jokes or references. LIke bitch answer the fucking question THEN do this. Not to mention they downvote you for simply having a different opinion.

Fuck reddit, it's becoming more unusable by the year with how unsufferable the userbase is

most of the internet is becoming more and more toxic in similar ways, although it's true that reddit is pretty high up there when it comes to rudeness

you have my sympathy

Welcome to the internet. It is the worst of humanity on display most of the time.

Depends on the sub. Some are only full of helpful people and replies, but I find the bigger/more general they are, the more garbage the people responding in them tend to be.

I don't post there but, I've read the occassional thread and noticed the same. Even on YouTube actually. There are some really unpleasant comments there.

I suppose if there are enough of them, it creates a culture where it becomes almost the norm, so I suppose they are less likely to be challenged. Bullies can be cowards themselves. Of course they'll gravitate to platforms where they can get away with being obnoxious! They may even get a sadistic little ego boost if other members find them funny or, join in.

The thing that puzzles me more is why a platform would be comfortable for becoming renown for that kind of clientele. I suppose there's a fine line between promoting free speech and, allowing hate speech. Maybe they only really care about popularity and making money though. So, they don't care what kind of cesspool environment that has (debatably) established itself.

I think being anonymous on the internet and having no reprecussions allows people to voice their real opinions and act however they want.

Sad really, but we're social animals designed to interact in person, in small groups and the freedom the internet gives allows people to be as hateful as they want.

Especially the ones playing devil's advocate for absolutely no reason and refusing to be on your side no matter what 😩 on vent posts.

I don't see Reddit as a cesspool because it really depends on the subreddits you join and how you use the site. But like with any other SNS, there damn sure are a lot of argumentative and seemingly projecting pricks that love to pop up and share their piece.

Reddit's been useless for a long time. It's a collection dump for angry superficial idiots, mostly.
