Why are people just assholes?

I can't even get all my words out, but a lot of people are just assholes, they ignore you, shame you, mock and deride you, abandon you and judge you.

This is a big part of the reason I am ctbing, even though I'd hate for other people to have been the ones to crush me, but they did.

I see so many people who are harsh assholes these days.

Honestly, no clue, I mean; once I've witnessed humanity at it's worst I realized that there is no reason for me to go on with life as I didn't train or prepare myself to be evil or live in an evil world.

Some people are miserable and project it outwards, some people are successful and want to keep others from reaching those heights, some people are just born rotten and get no better as time goes on. I'm sorry that your experiences with people lately have been miserable, but there's a lot more of us: People with emotions, feelings, thoughts, passions, wants, needs, likes and dislikes than there are those awful robotic monsters.

I don't know what Internet you were using... but I've been here since the beginning of it... and it was rotten from the start, as soon as it became available for public use. Internet forums and newsgroups were filled with bile and vitriol.

People suck... and society pretty much encourages it. The Internet makes it easier to be an ass to more people all over the world with a single stroke... instead of having to go door to door and be an ass to people in person... but people have always been this way.

I don't know which internet *you* were using but the groups and forums I was in, sure there were trolls and spammers but like this forum, they were the minority. This forum I think is a good example of others I frequented. It has scammers, it has pro-life trolls, but most of the time people here get on well. I'm guessing you frequented politics groups or similar which always have a lot of in-fighting but that is just people of different groups that naturally have unresolvable differences and strong views conflicting. I've been using the internet since about 1995

I'm not saying every group had hate and horrible in it... but it was all over the place from the start. Unless you just limit yourself to one or two places that happen to be relatively tame, the horrible is there.

Hurt people hurt people and there's a lot of hurt in the world. As someone pointed out in an earlier comment, the Internet just makes it easier and quicker to spread hurt to more people. Worse, it makes it seem that there is no goodness in the world, which isn't true.

Be kind to yourself, and proud that you are not an asshole. Some people are just assholes, nothing more. They have a lot to learn still about everything. They are selfish for not caring about crushing others and only care about themselves. I think having been crushed by someone, makes us see things differently and I could never do the same to someone else. There is a lot of hurt going around, and crushers may have been hurt too turning them into assholes. But I feel like the hurt has to stop somewhere. Sorry for your bad experiences and sending you love.
