Who informs the family when someone is found after ctb?

I considering ctb via shotgun in a hotel room, but I'm wondering who would inform my family after I am found. Would it be the police or someone else? Would they go to their home? I live in the United States.

Police would notify. They usually send a police chaplain and an officer. It depends on the size of the police in your jurisdiction. They try very hard to not notify over the phone. One for liability and two because they see it as disrespectful. They will notify next of kin only if possible

Since im gonna CTB in a hotel too, I am in no position to say this, but since you're going for a shotgun ctb, maybe rethink into going to the woods.

The imagery could really destroy someone mentally from the staff members. We shouldn't make others suffer like we are doing...
But then again, I'm gonna take SN in a hotel, so who am I to talk really...

Even if I go into the woods, someone will find me eventually… And depending how long that takes the scene may be even worse… Unfortunately there's no way to avoid it.

Some people said they would put a note on the door telling staff to call police. Although a shotgun in a hotel room is gonna be loud as fuck so everyone will be calling police anyway.

That could work, will probably do the same, just inside of the room right at the entrance. I just don't want anyone to suffer from the sight of the aftermath...
