Like yourself, I read about it in a online news article which opposed the site - and then named it. I was thankful for them having name this site.

My google research incurred similar results. Surprising how some people found the SS site through this search

I discovered it by italian news about a series of young italian SS users died by ingesting SN. They were saying that "finally" the forum was obscured and made inaccessible. A simple search brought me here

"Obscured" is one way to put it Lol. Googling up and accessing the SS site is easier than accessing porn

I think it was a Google search for "convulsions during hanging". But that was three years ago and I am no longer sure.

Google directed me to it. My GP was apprehensive about giving me these particular antidepressants (amitriptyline), as she said they're often used for intended overdoses. I lied, and said I've never purposely overdosed before. I wasn't actually planning on it at the time, just needed help due to depression. She ended up prescribing them to me anyway. And after our conversation, due to my curiosity, I typed "amitriptyline and death" into the search engine, and a couple of the results came up with SS. I had never heard of it before that.

I stumbled upon the Sanctioned Suicide subreddit when it still existed, and read through some of the posts. After Sanctioned Suicide was removed a user on another similar subreddit asked if there were any other alternatives... Then I was brought here.

Found SS via Random search on DuckDuckGo, and am so glad/relieved to have found a community where l am able to speak openly and honestly about my feelings, SS has really helped take some of the weight off my shoulders knowing there's somewhere l can go to be with like minded people!

Same. I was looking for methods and saw an article that mentioned a person "swallowing poison" after visiting a "suicide forum". I began to look around to find it, and ended up here.
