This may be the answer when suffering—whether mental or physical—has become so overwhelming and prolonged that you literally feel your poor soul screaming and crying out to be set free. In my case, it's the only way to stop feeling such intense emotional pain, the kind of pain whose causes you just can't resolve. When you know for certain that no matter what you do or how hard you try to shield yourself from it, the pain only grows stronger, and living with it becomes impossible because you've already tried. When you can no longer be a support for yourself. When you have always risen from what you've endured like a phoenix but this time you simply cannot. When it feels as if you're burning alive without fire. When life's trials never end but you are end
Well then I should go.

If that "someone" is me, then:

When someone has completely given up and they have absolutely no hope that they can get what they want out of life or that they can be who they aspire to be. The key is "no hope". It's a thorough understanding and conviction that things are not going to change.

When someone is ready to make the decision and not look back, and ready to stop considering possibilities, because they know their efforts are futile and won't lead to any solutions to their problems. When they're certain about this.

When someone is done with all the thinking and reasoning or with making any further efforts, and they just want out, because there is no point wasting time here in this life anymore.

When someone can accept the fact that it isn't the perfect solution and, in fact, they will feel miserable about doing it, but they know that this is the only reasonable and logical solution and the one they need to take if they want the best for themselves.

This is me. I really don't want to but it's either this or live a purposeless, lonely life. I'm still stuck considering possibilities because it's hard to accept that I have no one in this life but my suicidal ideation only began recently around the time I joined this forum. That may have something to do with my lacking resolve towards this solution. Despite knowing that it's the right one.

I am living proof that the cliché "Suicide is permanent solution to a temporary problem" is BS for some people.
I stayed alive for 23 years since my suicidality started way back in 2003. Things didn't get better, they got massively worse. I had to watch my body break down, joint by joint, and feeling how I slowly lose my mind and the real "me" in the process.
Sadly now at the age of 39, enough is enough. If all things go right I will soon ctb. The pain with every movement, the sadness, the loveless life... they got too much for me to bare.
I'm so very sorry to hear about your ailment. You are not even that old yet, where your body should be breaking down. Is your condition treatable at all? If not, I don't blame you for wanting ctb. Without our health, we really have nothing but more suffering in our future. I am 57 so my body has already begun its rapid decent towards decay and death. I need to get out of here sooner rather than later, as I don't want to be around to experience my demise.

God, I wish there were a one-size-fits-all formula to answer this. I've thought about this a lot recently. At one point, is it enough? It's really a bet that whatever is on the other side of this life can't be worse than this side. People talk about peace, about how deciding to CTB is preceded by a sense of tranquility. I think if suicide becomes a blissful solution every time you think about it... idk. I don't want to say something that fits my journey and screws someone else's up.

My body started breaking down at the age of 24. Bad genetics ruined my life. My hypotonia is treatable, but the symptoms can be lessened just a tiny bit. The joint pain and the weakness will always be there.

You mentioned that you don't want to experience your own demise. That is the main reason why I plan on exiting soon. The way things go I will need to use a cane by my mid to late 40's, and God knows what kind of nightmares await for me when I reach 57 :(

I barely endure my current health issues, I cannot endure even more painful and debilitating health issues. I just cant
