Don't Look Down

Why is it that every social media post or anything regarding suicide prevention always comes down to reaching out to people for support. As if that could possibly change anything. I have never had a conversation with someone that has changed my mind. Sometimes it'll temporarily take my mind off the fact that I will end my own life. But it won't truly cute me of those thoughts. Even with a good therapist that I'm seeing weekly. Or calling the hotline when I'm on the edge. Reaching out, ultimately, does nothing. Because at the end of the day you have to want to get better. On top of that you have to actively choose, then do the work to get better.
It's like they've sold you the sickness and said you have to work to get better (sorry if that doesn't make sense, I'm a little high right now and it makes sense in my own head).
Mini rant over. And on that note, feel free to reach out lol
