"you are the best thing that's ever happened to me" "where were you my whole life" "your first love being your last is rare but i can see myself marrying you".
shame it was a load of shit. only ever as good as someone's options; as a last resort. 14 days of having a sniff of an upgrade and i went from "the best thing" to discarding and blocked from ever speaking again. that's my true value. that's the best i can ever hope for.

Some weeks ago, my mum was in a clear state of mind, almost like before (she's severe sick now). And she said to me; I'm sorry I never really saw who you are, Sus. I tried to fit you in with all "normal" things, sports and education. I was wrong, I should let you flourish on your own terms. I'm so sorry I failed you.

I held my tears and thanked her. I cry inside when I think abouth these words. Of course I wish she'd told me when I was young, but parents are not perfect. No one is. There are so many words not being said. So much love in people, but we forget to share it.

What's the most important thing someone told you? And are you guys good at giving compliments or say nice things to others?
That I'm very self aware and smart. Compliments are nice but they're not going to make my life better. They're just suggestions or feedback. If I don't utilise the self awareness and supposed smartness it's like I never had it in the first place. Everything is so fragile. Life falls apart so quickly. Managing life is fucking hard. I'm always scared after getting a compliment that this person just got the wrong impression of me.

When I was at the gym once, a guy walked past me and complimented me for even being at the gym at all. It's crazy how you can spend 20 years on this planet and still be able to count all the real compliments you've received in your life on only one hand.
OMG, so true!

Maybe that i'm a coward. I kind of needed to hear that

I can't really appreciate compliments. Am i supposed to feel thankful when somebody tells me they think they have me figured out? Am i supposed to feel thankful if they lie to make me feel better?

I guess for the same reason i'm not good with giving them either.

What i can appreciate is when people are being mean. Because you can learn a lot about how people perceive you through mean people.

What's the most important thing someone told you? - Nothing, no one was around to give me proper guidance. I had to learn on my own.

And are you guys good at giving compliments or say nice things to others? - I do not know if I am good at giving compliments (have not been in a position to do so in a long time).

That said, I try to be respectful toward those who choose to interact with me.

«I love you». I give compliments and appreciation every day to the people I love and that I care about in my life, but I rarely get any in return, if ever.

"You're my angel, no one will speak to you like that again, I'll not allow it".

"Don't feel guilty, you dummy, I love you so much, you should already know that".

Those were the things my bestie told me, when she got in trouble for defending me after my disorder was diagnosed.

"What you are! This is adorable, it's like when a little kitten looks in the mirror for the first time"

She told me when I asked her what is a muse and why she called me that, it was when she helped me prepare for a performance.

My bestie was so reserved and stoic, but her displays of affection were somewhat intense.

I don"t remember words very well.

But I got hugged from behind by my now ex gf. It was warmest and nicest thing that happened to me. Like 2 seconds of surprise and solid 10 seconds of heaven.

I am bad at giving compliments.

I know it's a cliche, but my partner often calls me beautiful. And I know I'm not actually beautiful. Still it makes me feel loved and it makes me feel better about my appearance. I'm very lucky to have this. No-one had ever said that to me before. It took more than 30 years before someone called me beautiful. Words certainly have a big impact on me. Knowing this makes me want to be kinder with my words towards other people. Actions often speak louder, but I don't think the power of words should be ignored.

When my grandma was alive but sick I was about to leave so I have her a hug goodbye and when I walked out and closed the door I could hear her telling my mom and aunt how much she loved me. That made me happy.

It's been a long time but I still remember it very well. I was walking back home and a girl ran all the way after me, just to tell me that I looked pretty. I was wearing pyjamas, without makeup. It meant so much to me, and it still does. x
