• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

There's an old retired philosophy professor whos also a licenced therapist practicing close to me; I'm debating whether or not I should try to get an appointment.

Why am I telling you this? maybe this happy clappy dumbed down abc 123 singing mnemonic coping skill acronym songs and writing down positive quotes in our paint by numbers mandala diary works for some people. I mean there have always been those people as far back as I remember, back in school and later at work.

Some people are more intellectual or intelligent or even just skeptical, pessimistic, critical. Maybe you need some kind of analyst? That's why I was intrigued when I saw a retired philosophy professor as a practicing counselor.

I think psychiatrists don't earn as much as "real" doctors, at least in Europe; so out of financial interest it's probably better to become a cardiologist or a dentist or something.

I kind of went off in my comment, but I seriously get so frustrated when I think of "modern mental health care."

Ahh yes. The golden "if therapy doesn't work you are the problem". Love it.

"People who kill themselves are cowards"
I'm feeling confrontational so I'll say that the quote isn't really wrong. Perhaps a bit cold, but not wrong.

I had a teacher whose wife was an ambassador or something, so he traveled with her to many places, namely all around Africa. He once remarked that suicide, from a westener's point of view, is really stupid, as "if you aren't born into some poor African country with disease, famine and war, you can't, with a good conscience, say you have suffered.

There are certainly different layers of suffering, but to say that only African children suffer, is somewhat trite.
