A tall order to ask on a website like this- which is exactly why I'm asking it here. I figure anyone with an answer that isn't just "lol nothing i can't remember i'm depressed" has a really good answer.

For me that would be Hanazuki: Full of Treasures, which I just discovered last month. Lovely show with cute characters, and great animation. Very colourful too.
For me, it's The Dispossessed by Ursula K. Le Guin, which I read last year. I've read a few books, watch some films, and played some games, but The Dispossessed left a huge impact on me. While reading it, I was really immersed by the story in Anarres, it got my mind wandering all over the place. The society, the harsh living condition, the problems with its system, everything was crafted in such a way that left me captivated. It is currently my favourite book of all time, next to Neuromancer.
This month, I really enjoyed listening to I love My Computer by Ninajirachi. The whole album felt like a really good dj set and the transitions between songs were godlike. Also I succesfully set up pop'n music to be played using my PC like two days ago.

I should REALLY read Le Guin, I keep hearing about her but not putting in the work.
I'm not familiar with Ninajirachi, besides getting recommended the song "Fuck my Computer" on Soundcloud & really enjoying it, unfortunately I don't get much out of music nowadays other than the first time I hear it.
Doctor Who for me, I have all the DVDs since they stopped streaming it and I've watched 9-12 more times than I can count. It's my comfort show that can usually distract me when nothing else can.

Yess, I love her so much. Starting with The Dispossessed can be nice. The Left Hand of Darkness is also really good and immersive. I really love soft scifi books, and hers are the best imo. I haven't read her other works though, right now I'm reading Closer by Dennis Cooper.
I have the same problem with music, I don't really keep up with the recent stuffs anymore. But, Ninajirachi is pretty cool, her latest album feels like Charli XCX meets 2010 EDM but repackaged for the 2020s.
I have 'The Middle' on in the background at the moment, which has made me laugh a few times. The UK series 'Mandy' too. I've also recently seen the UK and Ireland versions of 'The Traitors'. I'll likely now start looking for other countries productions. It's a really clever show.
The last couple of games I played too felt near perfect. 'Winter Burrow' and 'Atomfall'.
I still get a lot of enjoyment out of media- thankfully. At least it's some distraction.

Arcane. Specifically the episode where two of the main female characters finally get it on. In a jail cell. With minimal censorship and amazing music. Genuinely the highlight of my life as a lesbian.
Ambient music, ideally with rain/fogcore/Silent Hill vibes. If you feel rough or have anxiety like I often do then it's really recommended. Good for the nervous system and even helps with sleep.
