In mid January I plan to CTB. What should I do before this ? Not like 'enjoy life' more like things for other people. Should I actually post myself on stuff? Should I write notes for everyone? Or just my parents? Any legal things I should figure out? Do i put it on my social media right before I CTB so people don't think I'm ghosting them? Or should I let them think I'm alive? Enjoy the time you have left... spend time doing things you like ... work on finishing plans for your death.

Personally, for me, it doesn't matter. Do nothing just die. But that's me. I can't think of any suggestions for you.

That is one cute photo. Idk what your method is or how long it takes etc, but I wouldn't post anything at the risk of being "saved". You can always send delayed texts or emails for the following day or even the day after that.

  1. Prepare anything legal, asset, or liability related. This means preparing a will that will outline asset distribution (I.e., where and who you your shit goes to.) this is so that, if you hold sentimentality to your material goods, the things you have don't either end up sold, go to the wrong person, or left in a dump. If you have any debts this is even more important because assets that can be liquidated will be so that they can be paid off. If you can manage and if you have any liabilities, I would figure out how you wish to sort them out before and after you die. A small tip I would suggest is to prepare a directive of some kind to family or loved ones that, unless they co-signed on any of those financial liabilities, that tells them any debts you had are legally not their issue or problem. Your will can also take care of any responsibilities or desires you have, such as what happens to your pet, your body, what you want for a funeral, etc so keep that in mind too. Debt collectors are monsters and they will figure out a way to get their dues if they can manage it.
  2. Prepare some form of post-mortem communication. If you are planning on killing yourself and wish to give the people around you some form of closure, I would suggest some kind of post-mortem communication. This can be done with scheduled emails, scheduled text messages (I know android messenger has this), letters mailed the day of your CTB, etc. and lets the people around you know any lingering thoughts or sentiments you had for them and can provide some necessary closure so your family isn't left wondering why you did it in the first place.
