Hi,
Anyone know the process that happens after you die? I don't talking about decomposing or heaven or hell, but what really happens after you die. Who get notified? I wonder if my boss will find out. What role do the police get involved in? Who do the police notify? I wonder if my psychiatrist and therapist will find out.

Edit: I plan to ctb in a hotel overnight.

It depends on how and where
Eventually you will be found unless you make sure you won't. The police will be involved obviously, and your existing family will be notified by police.

People WILL find out that you're gone, one way or another.

I mean, I'm sure everyone in your life will find out.

Procedures can vary depending on where you are. Police responds to reports of dead bodies. They come and forensic people analyze and document the scene. Your body gets taken to the morgue and an autopsy is usually performed. Police will interview relevant people. If all the evidence points to suicide being the clear manner of death, then they can close the case.

I texted a bunch of people my goodbyes before I attempted to CTB. The attempt failed and texts just made everything so much worse.

Sooner or later, everyone will know. I always ask myself how long it will take before someone starts looking for you. Just in case, I have prepared a short letter. Depending on who finds one. The police / fire department or the relatives.

I had the same idea. At least a message to say goodbye. But as you say, if it doesn't work out, everyone worries a lot more. Everyone panics. Then better not to write anyone. I think if the relatives get the message that one is no longer there, it is easier for them.

will our personal belongings get returned to our families or loved ones? I get worried about if the stuff I have on me at the time will get confiscated (like my phone).
