Discussion What do you want done with your body after you ctb?

Assuming that my body can be found, I would rather the be no funeral. It's a waste of money and time. Make me into compost or use whatever is left for science.

I want to be in nature, in the mountains, away from the things of man. I don't want to be buried, hopefully I can be a meal for animal(s).

I thought I was the only one who wishes to be a meal for animals.

I have witnessed the place I will be buried at, as I bought the spot. visited it a few times, I quite like it... I have told others that I am not wanting any sort of church ceremony, not really into this, rather no fuss at all, on my suicide note I will emphasize how I want no ceremony, not something I like, a open casket would feel like hell for me...

It doesn't really matter because I'll be dead. Ideally I would want my body to evaporate into air right after death lol! But since that isn't possible, cremation I guess.

Same here, though we're not going to get away without an autopsy. If you drop dead outside of a hospital or hospice they're going to slice & dice you to determine how you died.

Like, I would love to have a viking funeral... you know, tha raft, fire and arrows, go big time lol, but I know that's not going to happen so I'll probably put in my letter about not wanting a funeral and just be cremated, maybe a family reunion and that's about it. I don't want anyone spending money we don't have on me.

I wrote about this before. Catholic funeral with the body present. I want to repose in the coffin looking lovelier and younger than I have looked in years, so peaceful, with a slight smile lingering on my lips. I think of the pretty dress; the ceremonial brown scapular (I am a Lay Carmelite, after all); the icon and rosary clasped in my cold, stiff, smooth, perfectly manicured hands; the mark around my neck that is not disguised with makeup or a scarf — it tells the mourners, yes, I hanged myself. Deal with it. Cremation after the funeral. Ashes buried or placed in a columbarium at a Catholic cemetery, with a gravestone to mark the spot. I hope that my grave would become a site for literary pilgrims who would pray for the happy repose of my soul. A girl can dream, can't she?

I'd prefer cremation as that's cheaper. But honestly, if it was legal, I'd allow myself to be buried in the backyard without a coffin. I'm dead, why would I care?

If money were not an issue, I'd have my ashes put on a nuclear rocket and shot it at the Moon as Frank Sinatra's Fly Me to the Moon plays.

I'd like to have it cremated. As for the ashes, they'd be thrown into a river or used as some kind of fertilizer for a tree I have in my backyard.

I have written a few notes clarifying I'd love to be cremated and have some of my ashes placed inside one of those unique urn momento's, like the hearts that can fit in your hand. I want the rest to be scattered, but I have not picked a certain place just yet.

I have an irrational fear of cremation, so preferably not that.
