Have anyone here read the manga or watched the anime? What are your opinions on it?

the golden age arc is one of the best pieces of media i've consumed, especially if read while listening along to susumu hirasawa's soundtrack for the '97 adaptation

I could do an in-depth analysis, but I'm sure I'd bore you with it.
Regarding the 1997 anime, I can say that the one from 1997 is beautiful. It's excellent in animation, in the characters' voices, and in the Golden Age arc, it serves as an introduction for those who wanted to read the manga. It was done on purpose so that, since the manga was still ongoing, the ending would be an invitation to do so. I haven't seen the movies, but it's practically the same as the first anime, only with better animation than the series from the previous decade.

About the manga I can only say that it is a masterpiece of art, the golden age as they said is the best, I think that many complain about the scenes of violence like the dogs and the lost children, but for me it reflects the crudeness that Miura wants to convey to his readers, being that in general the manga is a tragedy for Guts and for almost all the characters.

What I regret most is that the author died, that he dragged out the manga for so long between hiatuses, and the fact that the story fell into a certain redundancy. However, those would be the only flaws, since the ending will now be somewhat artificial, despite the many indications or ideas he gave his assistants.

Not really, you wouldn't 😊

I saw it, I like it, did not like the cliff hanger ending, I'm not going to read the manga which it seems like the whole series was a giant commercial for so it didn't sell me but I did enjoy what I saw.

I felt there was a leitmotif on the part of the author to show a certain mental and physical tiredness of Guts since he lost Casca in the eclipse, I think when Guts wants to separate from the falcon band and Griffith confronts him, there the idea of a Guts who searches for his own identity and his own dreams is lost, now his only dream is to save Casca, to defeat Griffith, but I feel that it is like a loop where somehow Guts loses hope, somehow he recovers it, he faces a tough enemy in turn and after defeating him or something happens where for some reason he does not die, the cycle begins again where he is desperate, powerless, tired and so on the cycle ... I think I felt it very obvious when going to the "fairy kingdom" (I do not remember if that is what it is called) the place is destroyed and the escape to the ship begins, previously it had already happened with that king who turns into a tree and also when he wandered alone or when he was alone for a while with Casca (post-eclipse).

I have finished the manga and am looking forward to the new chapters. It's honestly one of the best manga to ever exist. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in psychological dark stories.
