It's weird but I forget to eat often, my mind is always thinking of the next task or event to do

When I was younger I'd eat fast food maybe once or twice a week, and a lot of frozen and prepackaged and processed foods (pizzas, mac and cheese, frozen entrees, etc). Then I started eating healthier with lots of fruits and veggies and mostly fish and poultry, brown rice -- still loved my lasagne and shrimp and spaghetti, though! oh and sweets, I love cookies and frozen yogurt and chocolate. I also ate a lot of salads, I love(d) salads. But last year I got a terrible intestinal infection which I'm still battling so now my diet is really limited (like, REALLY LIMITED....soups, toast, applesauce, steamed vegetables, rice, chicken, bananas, crackers, protein shakes and bars if I can handle them ok). It sucks. I've lost so much weight and I miss having a wider variety of foods I can eat. I've always been a light eater but now I don't eat much at all and when I do it's always the aforementioned bland foods and after a year of this kind of liimited diet it's gotten really old.

Isn't that hella expensive tho ?

Yes it is. But since I never go out or do anything that's not really a problem. Some people buy phones, go to a movie, go to a restaurant etc... Me I just buy junk food.

I eat either chicken, pork, eggs, rice, bread, and some cabbage, as well as other vegetables day to day. Since I'm living at home, my mother cooks for the family. I sometimes cook things I want too. I drink coffee just about everyday.

I cook simple, healthy meals at home. I'm pescetarian, so I mostly eat fruits, vegetables and fish. I also like to drink coffee.

I used to love cooking and baking but honestly just lost the energy and motivation. The rare occasion my boyfriend asks me to cook something, I do, but I mostly subsist on snacks and really easy foods like oatmeal and rice. Strong flavors can overwhelm me, so I eat a lot of stuff that's bland and beige. An interest in food is just one more little thing Ive lost to depression.

Junk food is probably my biggest weakness so I try to keep it out of the house as much as possible for my own sanity. I don't really care what anyone else does with their body, but I spend less time hating how I look when I'm not obese.

oatmeal is a good energy giver and releases it slower to keep your energy up and feel full longer and they do microwave ones now u just add milk. I add raisins and cinnamon to mine but some come ready sweetened with golden syrup flavour look for the big quaker oats boxesof sachets the sachet can even measure the milk out for you , fill to the line and nuke

I eat fairly well, with lots of veggies and fruit. although a little too much sugar. Food is about the only glimpse of pleasure in my life.......I numb my feelings with food.

99% of what I eat is microwaveable. Otherwise, it's probably cereal or a grilled cheese sandwich. I can't cook and it's too late to learn at this point.

never too late to learn, i know a few simple recipes you could try if you want?you may find it enjoyable I talk to myself and pretend I am doing a cooking show in front of a camera for TV.......never told anyone that last bit XD
I have decided full fat greek yoghurt and pure set honey is the yummiest thing I have found to eat since losing my sense of taste, I still taste the honey not strong but its there and the yoghurt omg it is the thickest creamiest thing ever, I would equal it to the full fat versions by liberte or fage

Yes most of what I eat are meals I cooked myself. I only get takeout like twice a week but for all other meals I cook something.

Most of what I cook is a combination of meat and vegetables.

When I want to spoil myself I cook something with a lot of carbs like spaghetti with meat sauce. I just made myself spaghetti a couple of nights ago while I was watching the Super Tuesday results and damn was it good.

For snacks I avoid chips, I mostly eat nuts and fruit.

I think frozen and microwavable food is gross, so I never buy frozen food. I don't even own a microwave.

I don't have the energy to cook and do dishes every day. I have groceries delivered for 2+ weeks, spend a couple of days cooking, and freeze individual portions that I thaw and reheat. Sometimes when the food runs out I'll get a bunch of junk food and takeout until I have the energy to cook again.

I eat meat dishes with rice, chickpea dishes, hummus, quinoa salads, ramen, cereal, some fruits. I love Mediterranean, Indian, Mexican, and Thai cuisines in particular. I snack on pistachios, hard candies, and cream-filled empanadas.

I live alone and cooking is one of the few things that I enjoy. It's like meditation to me. I love making everything from scratch and try to use fresh products only.
Currently my favorite is risotto with mushrooms, truffle and parmesan. And oven baked pasta. I'm hungry now lol.

I often don't eat breakfast. Soup and coffee for lunch. For dinner I have an inclination towards seafood. I'll eat almost anything.

I cook for myself and my partner most days. However twice a week i won't bother. I eat a meat based, omnivorous diet. I eat a lot of liver, Eggs, Lots of oily fish. I make my own bone broth and kefir ( fermented yoghurt) There's a story as to why I eat this way. I try to stay away from grains and too much sugar. I eat a lot of butter and cheese. Goats milk as well. I cook a lot of dishes from around the world. Bolognese, curries, Salmon dishes, English dishes, Iranian food, German food, I love Thai food and Chinese food as well. Also my own cultural dish, which is pork and Apple sauce, due to the area in UK that I am originally from.
If I'm not feeling like cooking, my boyfriend will order a takeaway. Sometimes I'm too tired and depressed to cook. But I still try.

If you'd like to share any of your oven baked pasta recipes, I'm interested! If yes, please see this thread:

And @BlackPoppet, I would also love some Iranian recipes, though I may not be able to get the spices where I live, but perhaps others would enjoy if you feel like sharing.

Hi. Yes I make the Iranian dish " Sabsi " on occasion. Along with one or two others. My partner is half Persian. I will give recipes as soon as possible! I will compile a few recipes for any body that's interested.

I'll send you some recipes. Give me some time because I never used a recipe or wrote one down so I have to think about the steps. They are vegetarian but I'll add some meat options. I don't know sh*t about fish so I won't add that.

Thanks! No rush. Just post them on the recipe exchange thread and share the awesomeness! And I don't mind if they're vegetarian. :)

Do you have or have a past with ED?
I get the feeling. Cooking is the thing that relaxes me the most but often after being in the kitchen for a long time, I don't feel like eating. I just made a lasagna and it smells amazing but I don't feel like eating it. Confusing and annoying!

No but my mother always made a serious issue with food, if food was on the table and someone knocked the door, plates would be removed and it would be binned, regardless if it had been finished or not, When given food even to this day, she picks fault with it, no food was ever right for her, its long and this is the tip of the ice burg but I think this is part of where I get my issues from

Oh wow, that sounds like such a strange situation. Must have been very confusing as a kid.
