If there's an afterlife, I wish it's a place of kindness and compassion. I'm not the greatest person, but I wish the higher being (if there's any) will forgive and understand the choice I made and hopefully I'll be truly free of this suffering without punishment.
a heaven would be nice... I imagine a place without boundaries, where we're not limited by resources and money, and where the people are kind. where everyone loves each other and no one is cruel, or thinks anyone is better than anybody else.
you could eat whatever you want, watch whatever you want, do whatever you want, make whatever you want, sleep with whoever you want, smoke whatever you want, drink whatever you want, go wherever you want, and all of it is of a divine quality. like if you were to watch a movie, it's a movie theatre, and the meals are all buffets sort of thing. I imagine that the ultra wealthy could experience this to a certain degree on earth today, but at the same time it's not heaven because no one's money is really unlimited, and you have generational wealth to think about etc.
I just want to experience a world that is limitless, but alas if such a place exists then there must be a hell where everything is horribly limited, and maybe I'll go there instead. that's what I feel I'm experiencing now actually. I can't eat anything, whatever I watch from the 2020s is probably brainrot, I can't do anything or go anywhere because I'm broke, I can't make anything because I'm starving, I can't sleep with anyone because of my living accommodations (or lack thereof), I can't smoke or drink anything although I do and that's half why I'm in this mess, and everything just sucks.
Fear of an afterlife is a big part of the reason I'm still kicking.
Same, fear of an afterlife might actually be the only thing that has kept me here. Lately I've been flirting with the idea of gambling with my soul which is scary considering how spiritual I've been up until now. I totally believe that the second you die you will have an out-of-body experience. It's basically confirmed by what I know about OBEs, astral projection etc.
1. brain science neuroscience . when the brain dies so does a thinking forever . drugs , no sleep, strokes, brain damage change who the person is and the conscoiusness.
2. evolution : a human descended from other animals and a cell . all life descended from a single cell. how could a human differ from the ancestor which is a cell which is a machine. a human is an animal a machine.
3. molecular cell biology : a human is the same cells as other animals. all cells are basically the same. for example all cells have the same machines DNA, ribosomes , ATP , RNA, genetic code. remove any one these and the cell cannot function . a human is just cells, chemical reactions , a machine.
I studied neuroscience in university and there are tons of conversations about consciousness outside of the physical brain between high level professors and scholars. In my fourth year studying biology my professor went in front of the class saying that for something like the 10th year in a row that scientists have disproved the theory of evolution. We did not descend from fish or any other animal, and he joked to us that maybe we were all an experiment by some other-worldly source (talking about aliens) to which everyone laughed, but it honestly scared the shit out of me. Like I don't think he was joking and for me it was either we were created by God or we were created by aliens and I choose to believe we were created by God.
Yeah, so we share a lot of the same cell structures as other species. So what. If you can't see how the human experience is different from all those other species then I don't know what to tell you. You haven't lived, seen, breathed, and felt the human experience if you think it can be compared to that of another mammal. Our bodies might be similar but our souls are something unique... The fact that I am sitting here, thinking philosophically and trying to convey it to you through a screen while my fingers type is even a clue. There could even be an afterlife for other mammals too. These are just the unanswerable questions and it kind of saddens me to see someone so bent on explaining them indefinitely with something as indefinite as modern science. There's something called measurable degrees of error, which I'm sure somewhere in those libraries explain.
The ancient Egyptian interpretation of the afterlife was pretty cool, so it'd be nice if it's like that. Mby it's just an individual thing and it's different for everyone, like you yourself can choose how your afterlife is gonna look like
The ancient Egyptian interpretation of the afterlife that I know was terrifying, like more terrifying than what I've read in the Bible. It talks about specific torture rooms in the underworld, but sometimes a spirit guides you through the underworld. There are a lot of rules like the 42 Ideals of Ma'at that we are judged by in the Egyptian interpretation, that I think I personally would end up a candidate for hell if were still the case.
