Hi,

I'm planning on ending my life next month and have chosen full suspension hanging as my method. I obviously have my share of doubts as anyone would, I plan to ctb using a dock line 25ft on a tree in my back yard that should hold my weight. I'm more worried about tying the double constrictor knot for my anchor knot and arbor knot for my noose. What are the most common problems people run in to when full suspension hanging?

Idk probably when it turns into partial because you end up touching the ground. Either the hight of the noose is too low or the rope stretching more than expected. Probably not the answer you're looking for but I have had that happen a few times. I felt so dumb after because I really thought that was going to be the end.

That's definitely useful thanks. I should be pretty high up with the branch I've chosen so hopefully what you described won't be an issue.
Thanks for linking this!

Hey, may i know what diameter rope u r using and did u successfully tie the noose knot ? I followed the video on this guide and the noose is widening when i pull it.

My two biggest mistakes were using something too weak to hold me weight as a kid. And something too stretchy as an adult that the rope stretched and I landed on my feet on the floor instead of in the air.

Probably putting the knot on the front. It would probably not block the carotids properly and might cause undue pain. Slip knot with the knot placed on the back of the neck should probably be ideal. Also choosing a thin rope might cut into the neck. I think some kind of cotton fabric should do a good job..

Placement of the knot below or above the adam's apple is another factor. Not sure which is best. Placing it below could shut off the airway causing asphyxiation, but placing it above might cause one to dangle from the chin if something goes wrong. This is the only point of contention for me with FSH.

If going with this method, think I'll go with placing it below by default, as one should lose consciousness in 12 seconds. I have seen some hanging videos that appear to be peaceful enough so..
