For those of you who have chosen or thought about full suspension as your method of choice, where would you do it? Hanging would be the most accessible option to me, if I could find a suitable place. I live alone, but I don't think my apartment has anything sturdy enough to support my full weight.

I've seen a few of you mention trees, but how did you find spots where you're unlikely to be disturbed? I'm worried that someone will be able to see and stop me

If you're short enough, maybe the door plus dumbbell method that Evelyn (?) posted ages ago could work. I just don't know how sturdy the setup would be

I second the door set up, i.e. tying a rope onto the door knob/handle and put it over the door, than close the door. This only works, if your door is high enough and the door knob or handle is stable enough. If you need to find a tree I don't think it is too difficult either, you just need to walk away from the main pathes as normally people don't walk away from pathes. If you live in a big city or metropolitan area you might need to travel a bit to find a suitable forest.

Stupid question but what's an ideal tree/branch? would i need to bring a fold up chair or something to tie the rope? and like kick it from underneath?

i'm definitely going to try the door + dumbbell setup that evelyn talked about, it seems relatively pretty foolproof as long as you have the right dimensions

I think I'll either do the door method or find an Airbnb with a good anchor point

A fold up chair would work. But you don't need it, as long as you select a tree that has a first branch low enough, that you can reach it from the ground. You can tie a sling around this branch, so you have something to put your food in for climbing up the tree. Then you attach the rope you want to use for hanging on a branch that is high enough off the ground that you have ample space for hanging and don't touch the ground with your feet. Obviously the 2 branches shouldn't be facing in the same direction, because then you could easily save yourself once SI kicks in.
