More accurately, my first pub. There's a couple circumstances I don't wish to share atm (maybe later), but it was largely a great experience. Ordered a beer, it was my first time ever trying a draft, not bad! I tried a few mixed drinks that the person I was there with ordered. We then walked to a cookout nearby, grabbed some food, and attempted to sober up so we could drive. We did eventually get sober and drive home.

Might've embarrassed myself a little while I was drunk (I'm very much a lightweight), I can't recall 100% of that night but I know I act very different under the influence. Anyways, just wanted to share that. It was a good night following a string of bad nights.

A pub was how I bonded with my best friend from uni. Thanks for this post, it's great to have that memory brought up again. I'm a lightweight as well lol that's what makes it funny

This is unrelated since I'm more health conscious now because I was recently diagnosed with oral cancer, but stay away from smoking/shisha/vaping, I'm pretty sure I have the disease because of shisha. One person introduced me to shisha, and told me it was harmless when I was younger, it's probably fated but I curse the day I knew him. Now, that was a 'friend' I wish I never had met.

Oh ofc. I honestly dislike being drunk (though I enjoy being buzzed or tipsy), so I can't see myself going all that often.

Yeah it's not so bad on hindsight. I've probably done worse sober 😂

Well I'm glad I could bring back a positive memory! A perk of being a lightweight is I'm much more inexpensive.

I'm sorry about the cancer diagnosis though. I could see how that would cause you to be more health conscious. I can't stand the smell of cigarettes and such, and I used to smoke week but no longer do as I've considered employment with the government after college so I avoid it to keep all options on the table. I had to look up shisha but I know it as hookah, and I plan to avoid that too. Thanks for the heads up though, and I hope things get better for you.

honestly going to the pub is a good way to meet people if that's something you're interested in, even if it's just momentarily. sometimes when i'm teetering the edge of nosediving into depression or being "stable" i'll do things like sit at a bar or a coffee and at least try to talk to one person. the bar is better because people are sometimes also there solo, can chat with the bartender if they're nice, and having a drink makes people generally be in good spirits. (just don't do what i do which is often drink my problems)

This genuinely made me laugh. That, he does. I'm probably gonna go again soon, maybe next weekend, I'll be very busy this weekend.

Honestly, since I've only been once, I wouldn't know. Maybe next time I will actually sit at the bar, see if I can converse with at least one person. Last time I was at the bar the lady who brought my drink was extremely kind, but she may have just been trying to get a tip. I don't know.

I don't ever usually try to chat at a coffee shop or anything because I usually am nose deep in a book or something. Trying to chat at a pub may alleviate the boredom I experienced last time waiting for myself to sober up so I could drive home. Thanks for the advice!
