Oh no...I'm im California and planned to order this Friday. (Actually have the link and informed DMC of this) should I back out? Do you happen to know what would happen? Just a standard welfare check? Feel free to DM if you feel more comfortable talking there!

Oh, really? Last welfare check I got they were just banging on the door and let themselves in once I opened it, said they were checking out my place to make sure I hadn't hurt myself. I would think with evidence you ordered something specifically from a suicide method source, they'd be quite a bit more insistent than they were in my case.

They checked you even though you hadn't ordered from dmc? I'm thinking of canceling my order becsuse I'm scared of welfare check. I did not order from dmc but still paranoid nonetheless.

This is so horrific, I hope the police officers responsible for this are punished and never allowed to be a police officer again.

I wouldn't go that far, they still have a job and responsibility to uphold. But its a shame that SN as a method keeps getting harder.
