Hi,

I think It was easier to ctb before... well, when I say before, I mean about 30 years ago... There weren't all these fences, nets, barriers, suicide prevention measures for jumping... even for medication, I have the impression it was easier before, less surveillance by social security because there was no internet... And then in general, I think... now everything is forbidden, safety regulations... etc. On the other hand, the arrival of the internet has made it easier to access certain things, but you still have to know what you're doing.

What do you think?

Thanks

It was probably easier to CBT until around the time they stopped prescribing barbs and replaced them with benzos. I mean heroin and cocaine were invented as medicines, and you could go out and buy them (inside a drink or a losenge or something) in a regular pharmacy.

In the middle ages it was probably easier, at least by hanging, its not like people could just call an ambulance right after finding you, if they found you before the 30 minute mark

I dont speak reality but methods of ctb
Idk wtf I was on when I typed that I think I was rushing because I was busy,

What I mean is, with the way our society works, in reality, it's extremely hard to find methods now that are easy and reliable. Most of them have been proofed and I 100% agree that it's way harder to CTB now adays.

Is the 30 minute mark complete brain death or something :0?

I bought rope less than 30 minutes ago but I've been considering jumping as well. Honestly I've got a lot keeping me back from doing it, I need to iron out my letter. I found a bridge near me with no fencing !!! So!!! Yay ^_^!!

I'll never do this but I was considering a motorcycle the other day. I'd get mildly intoxicated, head out to the country, ditch the helmet, and oops! I lost control and slammed into an immovable object at 150 MPH. I wouldn't leave a note, I'd just let everyone think that I got a "wild hair" and that it was accidental. It couldn't be much worse than jumping.

I was easier for sure. 30 years ago, you could easily find barbiturates in pharmacies. Our era is so shitty... Let's hope euthanasia will be more accessible in the next years.

Yup it was easier 30+ years before. I remembered the subway stations don't have any fencing , but after many people ctb they began to erect those wall barriers. Similarly quite a lot of people drowned themself in one of the reservoir , and they installed cctv to watchout for suspicous people lingering around the reserviir.

Also, the pysciatriats used to prescribe anti depressants quite easily , but now they have to examine very thoroughly before they decided to let you try out .

Basically, most things were easier before restrictions were put in place. Also, you could just buy a house and afford to live in the world, sounds nice.

I think that in some sense it was easier as the medicine and prevention were not at the level where they are now. Modern medicine will save you from injuries that would have been fatal decades ago.

Also some technologies in everyday use allowed more changes to go, e.g. CO emissions from the cars or use of domestic gas.

But nowadays, finding information is much easier and knowledge is power

Yup. One such example is jumping from the Golden Gate Bridge.
The 68.6 meter plunge from the Golden Gate Bridge has proven to be fatal in 98% of cases. The jumper would hit the water at 120 km/h (about 77 mph). Most die of internal bleeding due to broken ribs which pierce the heart, lungs, liver or spleen. Survivors, who would have hit the water feet-first, would have often had their femurs shattered.[5]
The fatality rate of jumping is roughly 98%. As of July 2013, only 34 people are known to have survived the jump.[52] Those who do survive strike the water feet-first and at a slight angle, although individuals may still sustain broken bones or internal injuries.
From an article on WikiDoc and on Wikipedia respectively.
There are suicide nets there now. Also, avoid landing feet-first if you're a jumper.
