I see. Their profile publicity must be restricted. In summary, they felt the forum had changed a lot, were no longer comforted by the site and felt worse being on here.

Especially with users who have been here for a long time, it hits me hard when they leave. But their decision is to be respected and in the end it is logical and healthy to stay away from something you are no longer comfortable with. I wish them all the best.

Basically, when you self-ban, yes this results in being logged out. If you log back in within 3 days (I recall that my account was deactivated after exactly 72 hours when I disabled it), you will be prompted to reactivate your account in order to use any of the forum features, including browsing, checking notifications and reading messages.
Your account is completely unusable unless you change your mind. If you decide to keep your account within that 3 day period, you won't be banned and would have to restart the process all over again if you still decide you want to disable your account in future.
After your account has been disabled, the only way of getting your account back is by submitting a ticket and/or using the Contact us link at the bottom of the homepage. A senior moderator or admin would manually reinstate your account.

Can anyone confirm what happened to @TheNorthernSilence ? He was my good friend since we both landed here in 2018, the last contact I had was 8 weeks ago, around the same time of his last activity here. It would help me know if he's gone and at peace. If you have any info please reply or dm. Thanks

Tbh, I'm always confusing who is who when everyone has discord names that are vastly different from their SS names. Well, I have too, but everyone knows I love dogs.

Yeah his discord name starts with 'w' and that's close to the date we last spoke too. If he's gone I'm not surprised at the timing but where SS was one of his only outlets while he struggled in life, I was a bit surprised to see no final message from him here. Maybe in the end the final step had to be more impulse
If anyone knows more re @TheNorthernSilence please msg, no matter how far down the line. I think likely he's gone but I still worry not knowing for sure

It's nice to hear. He was so confused about everything and I could feel his suffering. I was afraid that he might have taken a stray path, but I'm a bit relieved now.
I could never be the friend he needed, but I hope he's doing better now.
Treeline asked to be banned so they could focus on recovery.

We don't know. And you don't have to plan to kill yourself to be suicidal. Some of us want to die, some of us don't, some of us are unsure, and some of us are in waiting, either for a method to be viable or for external obligations to abate.
Has anyone an update on @Nolan96 ? I expect the worst. It is really painful to lose such friendly and compassionate members.
