Who's watching?

I'll be watching mostly for entertainment purposes.

From Ohio: " The first debate between President Trump and Joseph R. Biden Jr. takes place Tuesday night from 9 to 10:30 p.m. Eastern. "

If you are interested, here is a nifty timezone converter. I believe google is also providing a free live stream.

Man, that was a horrific display. Worst "debate" I've ever seen.

I was watching on CNN. As soon as it was done, Jake Tapper's immediate response was "That was a hot mess inside a dumpster fire, inside a train wreck." Dana Bash then called it a "shit show" on live TV.

I'm still speechless about how it all unfolded. It was an embarrassment to the country. The only definite loser of the debate was America.

I couldn't stand watching it all. Had to revert to short out-takes. You described it exactly right. I've seen schoolyard fights by children that had more dignity and honour. If I was in the US I'd not vote for either of those prissy baby children, whatever my politics. I feel sorry for America, I really do.
And what Trump said about the fascist groups..."Stand down, standby..." WTF is that meant to mean?

They're clowns. The shadow government is openly mocking us. They think we're retarded, and they're right - people will vote for these jackoffs.

I must say though all the people that wanted to get rid of trump, i'm assuming you wanted the otherside to win. well it didn't look like they chose a very good candidate if your anti trump.

to me if you were anti trump and wanted the other side to win, you would also be voting for the wrong side. they don't seem any better ,whatsoever!!!

I feel like these debate things are just to get viewers and cause controversy, not really about the real issues!! like i said doesn't matter who's in charge they will never do everything people want.

only way anything would ever change in politics etc is if you average person, who knows what its like for the normal people got to be in charge. and even then i suspect there would be other powers in chrage that woldn't let that work out.

look at it in the uk, we vote to leave europe(best thing ever) and all the rich people etc want to vote again and again until they get the result they want. that is the only time i have ever seen the people get what they want, it shocked me!!!

I have.

I'm not going to waste any more time trying to educate myself on people who aren't capable or smart. I don't want to watch two people who aren't capable or smart argue with each other. I don't even like hearing their incapable, not-smart voices.

Basically, I made a list of my personal positions on things and am voting for the person who aligns most with that. That is literally all I can do with my single, measly vote and whatever it counts for, which is nothing in my state.

What an elected person does as president is their own actions and not my responsibility. I have let go of stress in that department.

I'm uk and i don't really think who is in charge matters in your country. seems their are other 'dark forces' involved in stuff in your country. Like i feel that 'someone' wanted donald trump in charge of your country, for whatever reason!

i'm not big on conspiracy teories, but that CIA in your country are bent as fuck! something just seems odd to me, with the things that go on!!

It's messed up, yeah. As a citizen, I have witnessed the last four years of the other side having a turn with the puppet and I would quite like a different side to have a turn, as it's not going very well currently and perhaps they might be better puppeteers.

There's dark, secret stuff going on in every country, the CIA's job is to be 'bent as fuck' and every 3 letter agency here has it's messed up, corrupted ugly parts. They pretty much do all the questionable, sometimes very evil stuff that goes along with national security, crime, drugs, espionage, and whatever, but hey, at least they gave us LSD.

It's not so black and white, there's a lot that's morally gray, which is why everything is so uncertain and controversial. I think our politics have recently descended with the current president, so there's a lot of scandalous stuff that's out in the open because those are the type of people he associates with.

I'm proud of my country, but my country is not its government. We do have some absolutely delicious, truly excellent conspiracy theories to get lost in for just about every genre you can think of.

edit: 'bent as fuck' is such a fantastic phrase, I'm gonna use it a lot in the future.

@checkouttime please comment back, this is fun. I want to hear your favorite conspiracy theories and other thoughts. it's so interesting having a perspective from a different country.

I watched americas book of secrets on netflix, thats got plenty of conspiracy theories in it lol. its quite interesting actually. i mean some of it i'm just thinking BS. but then like you say the CIA were involved with drugs, LSD allsorts!!!

I agree totally agree all countries have bent stuff going on behind the scenes!!

im uk and i was always labour, but i like boris johnson. as i see him as possibly someone (as close as could be) to a normal average person, he seems to understand things a bit more. like when the parliament and MPs etc tried to get another vote on brexit, what complete bullshit and he made sure it didn't happen. so massive respect for that.

I imagine similar things happen in your country. i just think in the US the only reason trump could get in, is because people wanted him there. if they didn't i don't think it would have been possible for him to get where he is.

lmao have you never heard 'bent as fuck' before? thats ace. top isn't it different countries and the way things are worded!!!

EDITwhat conspiracy theories? i don't know how good i would be.i've watched alot of stuff about america(maybe too much to be of any use, i probabaly cant remember half of it!!), i find it really interesting. i love you guys!! one place i always wanted to visit!

I've never heard 'bent as fuck' before, people don't say that here! Also, people don't say 'that's ace' here, either. I really like it!! The US is cool, you should visit when there's less of a pandemic, it's huge and every region has it's own local culture which varies wildly from state to state.

So, Trump got elected because of foreign interference in the form of a cyber attack, which is actually scary. It is a proven fact that's been completely rejected by the executive branch of our government because politics.

He is a horrible, disgusting human being but people do relate to him because they see him as more 'human'. They usually aren't well educated, have been influenced by misinformation intentionally spread online, or are prejudiced and glad to see another prejudiced person in office.

That's not meant to be an attack on anyone who votes for him, the people I vote for don't have to be likable either, I just want them to do the job well. I think, politics aside, he's an idiot in the funniest way. I could listen to him 'explain' things for ages if he wasn't the president and I wasn't so sick of his voice by now; he's unintentionally hilarious.

It's a lot more complicated than all that, but like you said before, he is a puppet in the hands of some insidious people. Government jobs attract people like that, a lot of it is the richest people just trying to get richer.

What's going on is very, very concerning and while I don't think there will be a civil war (the majority of people really aren't that extreme about things) there will be—and have—been severe consequences for the gaps in national security and dismissal of the severity of several crisis, such as hurricanes and the pandemic.

I try not to think in terms of different political parties. I think in terms of my own values and opinions and then vote to see those things reflected in our government.

The CIA invented LSD as a potential mind control drug! It didn't do what they wanted and got leaked to the public. The CIA contributed to the crack epidemic in the 80s for really sinister reasons.

I don't like the dumb conspiracy theories like people claiming mass shootings aren't happening (because they are and it's fucked up) or saying that everyone is illuminati or lizard people because while that would be cool lol reality is unfortunately boring.

But there are tons of government conspiracies where government agencies and/or 3 letter agencies fucked up and there were coverups of huge scandals and crimes. I love reading about stuff that went on in secret decades ago but has since been uncovered because it's mind blowing.

Tell me about brexit and stuff! I don't understand much about that other than everyone is really mad about it.

oh i'm hoping to not be around before the pandemic finishes!!!

yeah iheard the thing about the russians being involved in the election stuff

i'm glad you said the thing about relating to trump. i like him and i think its because he is seen as more human and like the normal people. so like he reacts to things and does crazy shit, i like that lol (i guess that says what type of person i am lol). i know he has money and stuff but i feel on SOME things he may be a bit closer to your average person in way of thinking. obviously i dont follow 24/7 and live in the country so it might just be from what i have seen. but....i can see why you might not want this type of person running the country!!

oh the presidents are definately puppets. like they dont have acess to certain things WTF is that all about. that shows their are 'other' things affecting what happens in the country, quite scary in fact!

see the thing is i know trump is president and says this or that, but he doesnt have all the say on everything surely? like other people i imagine can get invlved if they wanted too????

OH yes, all that stuff about the CIA i have heard. i just watched something about US buying guns and giving them out in mexico to try catch criminals and them just going missing. the same thing happen with a load of drugs. it was actual stuff that has happened and i was like WTF!!! seriously bent!!!

yeah i dont believe all that stuff you mentioned either, i find some of it a bit disrespectful to be honest saying people aren't doing mass shootings, when peoples family and friends are dying.

some of the stuff amazes me though, i mean if they were giving people LSD etc and people found out. what were they doing that didn't get found out.

EDIT are we hijacking the thread here!!!

we should make a conspiracy theory thread.

the guns in Mexico thing was so messed up. Just not thought through at ALL.

they did get found out about the LSD! they were developing it for its potential use on war criminals or something like that. It was a secret because everything they do is a secret and I'm not exactly sure how it got out but it's so cool that it did. Seriously crazy trying to imagine wtf else they're doing.

Yeah, Trump doesn't have all the say in everything but he has found a lot of loopholes with the help of his puppeteers. It's an unusual situation where the usual checks and balances are being overridden. He is definitely not competent on his own and is a nasty person and a really frightening predator.

I don't think it says anything bad about you that you find him relatable. It's true that a lot of people do, I think that the problem is that his job is to run the country, not be relatable or human. A normal, relatable human can't deal with the responsibility and pressure of such an important and powerful position.
