So I tried to hang myself for the second time last night. The first time I used a noose so that's probably why I failed.

This time I used a slip knot. Tied one end of the rope around the door handle, slung the rope over the door to the other side with a slip knot this time. Mind you I have taller doors than normal. I tried about 3 times and got a little light headed but didn't pass out. The rope felt better below my Adams Apple btw.

It's just not as easy as I thought it would be. Seems like the consensus online is you lean into it for approximately 8 seconds and lights out.

I guess I am still fighting SI and I am scared of what is next after someone dies. I don't want to be stuck in a perpetual nightmare or something.

It does make hanging sound so much easier than it actually is when you hear about all these people succeeding with it. In reality, from what I have heard it sounds like a difficult method. If hanging was easy then there would be no suicide forums and endless discussions about it. I have never attempted that method personally as I would fear it going wrong. I know that for many, the SI can certainly be frustrating. It really should be easier to leave this world, to me it's unfair how leaving this world behind is so difficult. I wish you relief from suffering.

Hanging is mechanically very simple.
Partial is physically difficult because you have several ways to escape. This can be reduced with body positioning and handcuffs but probably not eliminated.

Are you lowering yourself slowly and then getting scared and standing back up?

Yes. Have you tried before?
I will be attempting within the next 12 hours or so. I'm just so shaky and nervous right now and trying to build up my courage. I will also be trying from the door as you described.

I might try hyperventilating next time. Maybe that will make me pass out quicker.

You need the pressure on your neck. At least 11 pounds to block the carotid's. it's all about hitting the right spot

Yeah I seemed to get more lightheaded and less discomfort under my Adams Apple vs. above. Maybe I still wasn't doing it right I am not sure. I think my setup was ok especially having tall doors. I just found it difficult SI is a bear. I just know I am going to miss my family and friends and I have no idea what comes next. Having to deal with death is inevitable though and I DO NOT want to get old. I generally feel anxious and paranoid all day every day so I just want to end the emotional suffering.

Where'd you get this idea from? People seem to make their partners pass out in bed when choking them within a few seconds. Why's it so hard to do it to uourself

Because that situation invilves someone doing it to you. Your SI will not impact them. Doing it to yourself is completely different.

Are you leaning into the noose hard and fast? If not it'll take a lot longer to lose consciousness. This is why full is a much better bet, SI doesn't stand a chance and it's a guaranteed outcome.

Okay, I'm now talking to the deceased. I have officially lost it.
