If I ever use the SN method, I want it to happen in a secluded place with low risk of intervention.

What are your thoughts about using a rented Airbnb apartment or a hotel room? On the one hand I believe it is best to rent a place far from my own apartment (with neighbors who know and care about me), but on the other hand I can't imagine the horror of the owner of the house I'll rent when they'll find my dead body.

Thoughts?

Well someone as to find you.
Plus if SN went wrong do you have a phone to call an ambulance and who will clean up your puke?
Plus owner would probably take hoise off Airbnb and lose money.
Go to a motel, don't use someone home.

Renting an airbnb won't be good for the homeowner's livelihood, or if they're planning on selling that house at any point. That's putting an entire person or family's wellbeing and finances at stake. I know some people say it doesn't matter to them, but that's a pretty shitty way to treat people.

Actually in my opinion, it also depends on who is running it, where it is, if it's their actual home, etc. It may have no strain on their finances so it wouldn't really matter then... but it's difficult to tell so I would just avoid it as a whole.

The thing is, I'm afraid that other occupants in a motel will hear me while I'm dying. Motels and hotels rooms are usually surrounded by many other rooms.

With Airbnb, you can often find places that are quite secluded.

What if I leave the owner enough money to pay someone else to clean after me?

I don't think it could ruin their livelihood or the chance of selling the house, because they don't have to tell buyers and renters that someone died on their property.

The only thing I'm worried about is leaving a horrified, traumatized landowner.

Solution: rent all the motel rooms around yours.

Most of us have probably lived in a place where somebody died, or in a motel room, etc. Its not like that info gets passed on.

If there's no requirement, I'd say it's fine if you close the door and write, "DO NOT ENTER, call emergency services first!" in plain sight. Honestly they'll maybe be horrified and traumatized for a moment, but no more than the cleaning lady at a motel.

Edit: make sure it's not their actual home though...

I think it is alot hasher to do this, sometimes people still live in the property when it is not on airbnb days. so it could literally be someones home. Most motels r geneally quite good for sound or everyone would complain about all the next door rooms, tv, sex, talking loudly etc. i dont think you would make that much noice. I would put a sign on the floor by the door- saying to not come any further into the room! call 911 immediately. So that the cleaner in the morning will stop and hopefully not enter and find out what happened.

I probably wouldn't do it in a small family owned business where they rent out a room or two close by their home. The larger hotel groups are purely profit driven and don't care about anything but money so they likely have a policy regarding suicides in their rooms that limits any sort of financial loss. Aside from leaving a sign on the door for the cleaner regarding what they are about to find I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Actually, a lot of airbnb apartments are owned by a company, cleaned by professional services. In all purposes, they are hotels

That's why I plan to rent a cheap apartment in a removed area, cheap and no problem, but them I also plan to check an unhabited deserted place around it with high vegetation around it where noone will think on going and also doing it.
Depend on what I see.

This is a good question, I've also been thinking about this. Here is a great idea for those who drive and may have some extra cash (few hundred bucks or $1000+) to use as deposit. Can rent an RV/ motorhome, then just drive to somewhere far, and do it inside the comfort of a motorhome. Not sure the total costs of this, but probably deposit plus a couple days or so of rental, so maybe looking at between $1000-$2000? If they don't charge the actual days you used until the very end, then thats a bonus ;) Might be costly for some people, but at least can somewhat guarantee you'll have a peaceful, comfortable and rather safe environment to CTB. And most likely will be the cops that come across your body first in the end, since after you CTB, nobody can get a hold of you, so the company will report it as lost/ stolen
