This forum makes me depressed

I thought this would be a place for support and recovery, but I was wrong.

First, you make a post mourning threads with 0 replies, and yet my writings get 0 replies, when in fact they are an important part of my recovery.

I make an honest opinion on political matters, and an absolute asshole calls me things and instead of keeping talking to me, he blocks me. And instead of being punished he is applauded.

Honestly, this forum is not different from the shitty world. There's only assholes here. Rather keep my deppression and CTB ideation elsewhere...

There can be many reasons. Maybe people didn't notice it, it happened that people weren't in the mood to answer, to read, to reply, wanted to reply but didn't know what to say. You can always bump your own topic and say something like "I'd really appreciate some advice." - and once again, that might not work, but it's unlikely that people are specifically against you in particular. I tried to find the thread now and were unable to, maybe it was a comment somewhere, I don't know.

Politics are unfortunately a very fragile topic. I don't know if people blocked you, I don't think there is a way to tell, just because somebody decides to drop out of the discussion doesn't mean they blocked you.

I haven't even read the entire discussion for unrelated reasons.

If somebody says 1+1=3, calling people delusional, calling them names, telling them to try harder, blah blah blah is not a good response. If somebody is incorrect, explaining it with facts, truth, logic should be easy.

This is general advice, not about any specific discussion.

B: You are an idiot.
Is simply not a good way to reply. Of course I can understand why somebody would reply "You are an idiot", but that doesn't change the fact that it is not a good way to reply.

Honestly, this forum is not different from the shitty world. There's only assholes here.

I feel like this too at times, but it's really letting bad apples spoil the bunch. You have to be selective with who you take seriously.

Truth is that it's a public forum , and you will encounter voices you don't like from time to time. Some are genuinely bad people, others are just misguided or fundamentally incompatible with you.

Most people here, are ok. A few are even deserving of our utmost respect.

I'll personally support your recovery when I want, and if I want - if I see your posts, and if I think I have anything to contribute.
I assume others do the same.

My advice is to set the expectations right. Use the forum if, and in whatever way that you find it beneficial. The intent of this place is not to make you more depressed.
Also expect politics to be divisive. Intolerance and emotionally loaded language will continue to show up from time to time. If you're right leaning, you can also expect to be outnumbered, twenty to one, increasing the risk of flak. Ignore that part of the forum, if it's too much.
