Spot on. One of the best posts I have read. Most breeders just have no critical thinking skills at all. They create more stupid breeders and the cycle continues.

1 - A mistake on the part of one or both parents
2 - A selfish motive on the part of one or both parents

Even the so-called "really intelligent, successful and justified" (as you put it) have either (1) made a mistake or (2) been driven by a selfish motive.

Selfishness and stupidity are the 2 common drivers. Breeders know it deep down but rarely admit it. They say "I want to give junior the life I never had"; I feel like saying he/she will most likely be another wage slave at best. Another one I hear is "I want junior to grow up believing he/she can be anything they want to be". Utter morons.

having kids thinking it will save an already broken relationship (it doesn't; it makes the relationship worse).

having kids because you want authority and autonomy over someone, and never having to worry about said authority being questioned.

having kids because you see others have kids and want the unnecessary fanfare of having offspring.

having kids because you're bored with life, and the responsibilities already piled up aren't enough, only for the child to come along and now the complaints about parenting being too hard commence.

having kids so you can have guaranteed caretakers when you get old (as if the child will take care of the parents... spoiler alert: they're not guaranteed to do a goddamn thing).

Most of these "parents" are brainless, but they're selfish to a fault. They don't know what they're doing! Being trapped in a physical body is the worst thing imaginable. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Yes, there are people who love life. But there are also many like us. If a person was forced into this vile world, then assisted suicide should be available to everyone. But no, we're not even allowed that
