Probably one of the saddest things I realized is that just because you're having a bad day, doesn't mean you'll have a good day soon. I just don't understand why if the universe doesn't owe me anything why I owe it my life and 70+ years of suffering.

Yep. I hate the cliche 'You owe society'. Like wtf what do I owe? The world is a slaughterhouse that I never asked to be apart of. But yet here we are having bad shit happen to us constantly and everybody acts like you must take it like a man and deal with it. The world/society only wants you to suffer, anything that would benefit your life in the pursuit of happiness is thwarted and tossed out like shit. 'Because fuck you that's why'.
The same type of people who say 'the world doesn't owe you anything' are the same type that say 'stop feeling sorry for yourself' (Whatever that means). While suffering is part of life, it shouldn't comprise the entirety or majority of our existence. We deserve to be happy.
Given that life is unfair, chaotic, and none of us choose to born into this. Often times people who like to tell us negative things like that are not the type looking for a solution to the problems the world is facing. They just don't care and they truly only think for themselves. Pay them no heed. Don't listen to them. You have a place in this world, and the world itself doesn't 'owe you nothing.' But as a person, the world owes you 'Respect, decency, and hope.' Because if you're posting here, you've endured enough, and deserve those three basic things.

We may be 'owed' those basic provisions but it doesn't mean we'll ever get them. There's no guarantee. But suffering, now suffering is the only guarantee I see happening in the future. Also I don't have a place in this twisted world. I never belonged here.

You're so right but at the same time I wonder what lifers expect you to say what I owe. My life? lol because it's getting to that point where I'll be nothing but fertilizer. Maybe that's it, life is just a waiting game so you can return your rotting meat sack back into the ground to be used like how you are used in life.

Society's flawed, so why should anyone feel as though they owe society anything? Besides, if I choose to ctb then Mother Earth would have one less person contributing to her destruction, and that's not an entirely bad thing.

You're so right but at the same time I wonder what lifers expect you to say. Like I want answers from the world, society and family to tell me what I owe. My life? lol because it's getting to that point where I'll be nothing but fertilizer. Maybe that's it, life is just a waiting game so you can return your rotting meat sack back into the ground to be used like how you are used in life. After being used I wish I could have the answers as to why any of this happened? But yet it'll be like talking to a brick wall with no satisfying answers as why we must suffer and die and give up the only thing that made me 'me'. Now I'm rambling, sorry.
Theres been many times where Ive thought life was meant to be so painful that when you die its a relief. Maybe life is to suffer then you die and you're free.
Then you see all the rich folk out there having such a better quality of life (not always happier for it) but it used to make me wonder, why them and not me? lol.

Yes but when one person dies 3-7 more takes their place. So in effect your lack of impact meant nothing. But it's not like it would matter once we're dead.

Because we live in a twisted reality where the only reassurance we get is complete randomness. It's an algorithm based on chance that basically goes along and nippicks every being out of the womb and basically says as it chooses 'Fuck you, fuck you, You win, fuck you, You win but fuck you too'.

Listen. I and everyone here deserves to be happy. Deserves doesn't mean entitled. You may feel that you don't deserve to be happy, and that's fine. But I feel that everyone deserves to be happy. Everyone who is posting here has suffered immensely, and I don't think that is fair. Life may be completely unfair, chaotic, and unstable, but that doesn't mean that people don't deserve to be happy.
You might not feel like you deserve it, but everyone deserves to be happy. Especially everyone here.

Are you saying that people should have to toil and labor to feel that they deserve happiness? Keyword here is deserve. But I also feel that people are entitled to happiness. Especially after as much suffering as we have endured, I feel that we are entitled to happiness, and that's okay. It's okay to feel entitled to happiness. Happiness isn't a commodity, it can't be given out or sold. It is something that comes from within. It is the state of mind of a sort of mix of joyfulness, bliss, and peace. Almost like love, but love is a bit more of a faster and passionate feeling. Happiness is more serene and content, where as love is more warm and connecting.
Many of the users here (Including myself) have been robbed of these very feelings by the very same people who say things such as 'the world doesn't owe you anything.' OP was posting about their feelings and how they feel that society and the world has forced them to feel compelled to owe the world something, when in reality OP owes the world nothing. The only people you owe for anything are those who have done good things for you, and if it was truly a good thing, they probably aren't going to ask for anything in return.
It's truly a tragedy that people are made to feel like they bring no value to the world unless they contribute their labor for a low wage and at the cost of their physical, mental, and emotional health, as well as their limited time here.

Being alive is enough of a reason to deserve happiness. Being alive is enough of a reason to be entitled to happiness.
Happiness is a state of mind. It's not a choice. It is the culmination of being at peace, content, and joyful. Many of the users here have had abnormally difficult lives and they found this place because they haven't felt one of those feelings, if not all three in a very long time. Infact, they are probably suffering with the opposite of those feelings... Depression, despair, and misery. No one here wants to feel that way. But given the cards they have been dealt, it's natural to feel the way they do.
When you've been trapped in rock bottom for as long as many of us have been, it's difficult to even get out of bed. It's difficult to fall asleep. It's near impossible to be functional. I am a survivor of sexual abuse from my mother. Constant physical and emotional abuse. Neglect. A victim of doctor shopping. Two years ago, I couldn't even put down the bottle. One year ago, I didn't even see myself having a job. Today I'm employed. I haven't had a drink in 4 months. I'm trying. I'm not to the point where I am 'happy' but I am at peace with a lot of my abuse and I am willing to keep trying. Maybe I'll be someday I'll feel joy.

If the world "owes me nothing" ...... Then please do Not come to me whining and complaining ...... When the next Charles Manson or Adolf Hitler appears ...... If I am alone ...... If I am "on my own" ...... Then so are you ...... I will Not help the world ...... If the world will Not help me.
---------?$@---------?$@.........
Please do Not ask me to ...... Join the military ...... Vote ...... Be kind and courteous to people on the internet ...... If the world owes me nothing.
