Yes I find it odd that a lot of antidepressants and other meds associated with mental health cause a lot of weight gain and so forth. I wonder why that is, and if anyone is investigating it so they can do something about it? That's not good that it can cause diabetes.
Everyone's body chemistry is so different. Some people can do fine while they're on a pill, but then when they stop taking it they have issues. Other people can take the same pill and have issues while they're taking the pill, but the issues stop when they go off of the pill. And still other people have no issues taking the pill because the pill has no effect on them. That's the category I usually seem to fall in. I always get to experience all the lovely side effects without any of the benefits that I'm supposed to experience. I must have some weird body chemistry or something.

I talked to an endocrinologist about this. He actually said that mirtazapine causes diabetes.
I did a little more research and found that ssris may mess up your metabolism. How many of these drugs make you hungry? How many make you gain weight? They tell you these are just side effects but there is still an underlying pathology, it's not just magic. If you gain weight then the drug must be messing with your insulin levels, I don't see how it could cause weight gain otherwise.
They know very little about these drugs and tell you even less. If only they were more honest so you could assess the risks against the benefits.

They shouldn't have laughed at you Squiddy. Id expect more from people in their situation and I'd have called them out on it if I was there cus it makes me angry. No one should bare there soul and be laughed at, ever.

Yeah, i think so. I finally recovered from flu i had so I think I am feeling quite ok. Well, still feeling bit depressed though but that's the norm.

Yes, that's very interesting. I have no proof of it, but in the years leading up to my thyroid issues—I was put continually placed on one ssri after another. First I was on Prozac, then Zoloft, and finally Paxil. I've read things online that claim that Paxil may actually cause thyroid issues. Thyroid problems run in my family anyway and every female in my family had the thyroid problem.
However, most of them didn't get it until they were older. I got it in my late 20s, which makes me think that maybe the Paxil somehow triggered it earlier in me than the rest of my female relatives because they didn't get it until their mid to late 30s or early 40s.

Agreed. The healthiest / happiest I was I'd never consider smoking tobacco (maybe a little hookah) eating fast food, and alcohol was just meh. Because of self respect for body spirit and mind. Don't trash your own home right?

Would it be a stressful call? are you worried about it? If there's a chance police might get involved i would definitely check in, juts to prevent that.

I would really like to shut off all communications except SS until I CTB, but i'd probably get welfare checked within 24 hours. BlueWidow and i were talking about this yesterday. It is nice to have people care about you but when it comes to CTB the fewer people you're accountable to the easier it is.

Sorry, i'm starting to become bitter about all the obstacles preventing me from CTB - as i know many are. And the dumb prolifers popping up here earlier.

Would definitely recommend avoiding welfare check. A slippery slope to other things.

in some places this would move you to the "at risk" list, which can become quite intrusive.

I was just hallucinating and could've sworn I saw chicken in my backyard. It made me think of you @Squiddy!
Then I realized it was just the sun reflecting some stuff inside my house onto the window. The sun is out for the first time in weeks where I live and I'm not used to it, so apparently I'm hallucinating chickens walking around in my backyard.
