there are so many kinds of oppression that are common in our society and it even creeps in here: fat-phobia, notions of attaction, western beauty standards, peoples expectations of a perfect life. woman are objectified even here and people assume woman want compliments. unfortunalty many people get locked into rigid ideas of 'success', myself included. I wanted certain accompliments that I never attained. The more I tried to sacrifice for that goal, it didn't matter and I had to face failure. The option was to let an old dream die and allow a space for a new one. that is one form of suicide. when you shed your old dreams, new options are there. people can have second or third lives. I can also sympathisze with your trauma at living with your sister who doesn't understand the triggering things she's doing because to her they are unimportant. you might have a chance to develop other talents if you allow yourself that freedom. I know someone who was a famous athlete and then he got unwell and had to give up his dream. On one had, your past victories still happened. you succeeded. And now you can look for new opportunities. But it requires give up on that and releasing the power that dream had on you. you also still have the mind of that person. the skills you used. but also the discipline. that are valuable.
