Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

that recursive chmod would have made the downloads folder and its files executable (as with the homefolder), files inherit their folder's perms until changed iirc
won't the newly downloaded/created scripts still need to be made executable? Unless your chmod is always running in the background now
