Ugh yes, the good ole r/SuicideWatch days before I thankfully found this forum. I remember I got banned from that subreddit for suggesting that suicidal people should be allowed to be euthanised if they're over the age of 18 lmao. The stupidest piece of advice I ever got on that sub was to have kids because they make everything better and give your life meaning (and they were dead serious as well), that kind of attitude is why people still suffer from depression to this day...

before finding this place I joined a random one on Reddit, the poster was a man from Thailand, who had lost his job, was going to lose his home, and gave a large list of disabilities he suffered from, mental and physical. All he wanted was warm wishes, which I gave and was promptly permabanned for as well as being told that I was reported to "authorities" for encouraging suicide.

Shit like this, as well as the comments on that reddit thread, show how fundamentally different people like us are compared to the average person. Our values are so radically opposed to one another, it's as if we were living in two separate universes. But because they are in the majority they can impose their awful values on others without repercussions.

Leaning on 'religion' is... no more meaningful or real to me than leaning on aforementioned anime. Both are fiction.

Totally agree with you. Religion did not exist before man. It was created to control and possibly give live meaning, maybe guidance. Nihilism claims there is no meaning to life, and you create your own. Religion claims there is a reason to life, but it was created by someone else. At least nihilists create a meaning that has relevance to them personally, and don't try to conform to some meaning a person came up with many years ago, and can change at any other's whim.

But, I don't see a problem with leaning on religion, fake or not. If that gets someone through the day, then it served at least that purpose.

And there's so, so many things that can go wrong. Divorce. Disabilities. Crippling depression. The list goes on and on.

I was listening to a podcast the other day where the host asked his guest if he thought having kids was "too expensive", and the dude said, "Anyone who is hesitating to have a kid because it's too expensive, don't be. Have them anyway, because all of the struggles that come with it are worth it to see a mini-version of you. It is the most fulfilling feeling you will ever get as a human being."

So you get to feel fulfilled, and your kid…probably is? Maybe? Eh, who cares, just have them anyway. They'll probably be fine.

Idk, it's pretty fulfilling to go on kayak or Priceline Wednesday afternoon, and book a flight to somewhere with beaches and palm trees for Friday to Monday, and not worry about what it costs, then meet one or two new "friends" and party all weekend :)

But sure, having kids is so much better lol. Love how people convince themselves that the wrong choice was the right one...

Don't you love it when the rare article about suicide is published, a suicide hotline number is stamped across the very top of the article in font 3000? Invariably with the helpful prompt that, if we're having a hard time, we should call. :)

I should have asked them If I tied noose correctly. We should have another institution like planned parenthood, maybe planned death. With organizing your funeral (there is a fun in funeral. There is no fun in birthday) and etc.

It shows how most people there have never felt depression. One of the major reasons why were suicidal is because were stuck in a cycle of no longer enjoying things the way we used to or at all. Marvel isnt gonna fix that.

I did literally postpone my suicide attempts because of video games. First it was Diablo 3, which turned out to be pure shit. Then it was Thief 4, which turned out to be pure shit. Dark Souls 3 was okay, but way too linear, bosses were too hard, magic was ruined, places and npcs were recycled from DS1, and there's no replayability, but I'm still glad I bought it and played through it and its dlcs. I won't wait for Diablo 4 or Skyrim 2 (jk, of course I mean The Elder Scrolls 6) or Elden ring.
