It's okay if this doesn't get any replies but if you want please share a fun fact or give me a light-hearted rabbit hole to go down, pun half-intentional. I like hearing them and could use a little distraction.

You're more than welcome to infodump to me as well should you feel like it, I don't care if it's a long post. I just want something else to think about so I might ask questions if I have any.

How sweet! I don't have a video on-hand, but they make cute sounds as well.

I don't really know about astral projection, but I at least can't blame people for being scared by the sleep paralysis part. I've heard of very alarming experiences- When I was about 11 I was so worried about it that I made a quick habit out of sleeping on my side because I saw someone say it can only happen when you sleep on your back.

Sleep paralysis can also help induce lucid dreaming, and is a big part of the WILD (Wake Induced Lucid Dreaming) method.

I don't know if this is a fun fact, but I really really REALLY love sharing it because a lot of people have some trouble with it, so here is the fact...

You use "they're" as "they are." For example, "They're being really mean to me!"
You use "their" in reference to a person when "they're" doesn't make sense in the sentence. For example, "Oh my goodness! Their clothes are so beautiful!"
You use "there" in reference to a place. "The park is right over there next to the cafe."

I also want to say this one!!!!
You say "you're" as "you are." For example, "You're doing a very nice job cleaning your room! Well done!"
You say "your" when "you are" doesn't make sense in a sentence. For example, "My name is John Doe. What is your name?"

Something else I really really REALLY want to say is:

People say that back during the Cold War, people were taught to stick their thumb up to the mushroom cloud to see if it was safe or not. First, you close one eye. If your thumb was bigger, it's safe. If it is smaller, you run. This is not true. This one is for the Fallout fans, haha! Vault Boy is just sticking up his thumb because he is reassuring you that everything is going to be okay and to, "Prepare for the future!!!!" In fact, that thumb and nuclear bomb thing never happened. Just a pretty interesting rumor!

I apologize. This is the last one. Hopefully, this leads to an interesting investigation on the internet!
There is this video game called, "Rule of Rose," that is said to be the rarest video game in the world. Under 20,000 copies were made of the game, and was later banned due to controversy. It is very interesting to research if you want to go down a video game rabbit hole.

Let me know if any of these are inaccurate so I can correct them. I am positive they are accurate, though, just let me know if they aren't. :)

If all the ants in the world were grouped together and all the humans in the world were grouped together and we were put on separate scales- we would weigh about the same! (Apparently.)

Animals don't just perceive colour differently to us, their perception of time is different too. Dogs perceive it slower (apparently), cats faster (weirdly- considering how fast their reactions are...) Weirdest of all- a cold blooded animals experience of time changes according to what temperature they are.

No need to apologize! I'm grateful for everyone's responses- As I said I enjoy hearing them. I like to learn! I don't mind grammar errors much myself anymore since the English language can be pretty tricky, but you're right that those seem to be frequent mix-ups. Its and it's as well.

Ah, that isn't true? I'm one of the people who thought it was. I've seen it mentioned outside Fallout, so it's surprising a rumor has spread so far!

Rule of Rose! I've watched a playthrough before and enjoyed it, but I actually didn't realize it was so rare! No wonder it's considered a slightly obscure game, then.

That's an incomprehensible number of ants, to be able to weigh the same... And cats' reflexes are even more admirable knowing that. It's very strange that it changes based on temperature for cold-blooded animals. I wonder why! I'm curious if it has to do with vasoconstriction or vasodilation- The shrinking and expansion of blood vessels respectively. I'm rambling so I apologize, but temperature is one cause of both, so maybe the change in bloodflow affects their brains more since they're small... I'm sure that's not it, but I'll just have to look it up, then. Thank you!

Do you know which war that was? I'm curious about how that happened, so I want to read the full story.

The soda fact is weird, but thinking about it I've always had to dig for cans of regular soda in ice coolers where the ice began to melt... I believe I even remember wondering why the ones I wanted were always at the bottom since it meant sticking my entire hand in cold water lol. I guess I have my answer now.

If I was sleeping 16h a day I'd probably feel like time was flowing twice as fast too.
When their days are shorter it only makes sense that it feels like the days are passing faster.

Interesting isn't it? It was this video I think that introduced me to the idea:

I can't remember him explaining the why's but I'm not very scientifically minded- or- at least I don't tend to remember facts. But yeah- weird.

Donkeys are smarter than horses. A female donkey (jennet) will not willingly mate with a male horse (stallion) because she knows it is not a male donkey (jack). Not to mention, male donkeys are "bigger" if you know what I mean and jennets aren't settling for less. Furthermore, if you do actually mate a jennet with a stallion (by literally tying her down and forcing her), you create the opposite of a mule, and it's called a Hinney. Mules are the product of a mammoth jack breeding with a mare. (Male mammoth donkey with a female horse).

Donkeys come in three sizes: miniature (like huge dogs), standard (what most people know) and mammoth (these are used to make mules). If you need to control coyotes on your property, get yourself a pair of standard donkeys.

The summit of mount Everest is NOT the highest point from the center of the Earth . Because of the equatorial bulge, the summit of Mount Chimborazo in the Andes is the point on the Earth that is farthest from the center and beats Everest by 1.24 miles (2 km) . However the summit of Everest is the highest point when measured from sea level .

Many times, for many things, the context matters. So, 1 + 1 it isn't equal "2" in binary, as that digit doesn't exists. It would be 10.

Yes, 1 + 1 = 10. In binary.

Fanfiction as we know it today was birthed by Trekkies all the way back in the 60s, but it didn't gain larger popularity until the Internet was more widely accessible. The fan base credited for jumping on this Internet boom in the 90s to put fanfiction on the cultural map was for The X-Files.
