Talking to AI as therapy

Anyone use AI as a free therapist? I didn't find it bad, but it's a shame that when it comes to suicide it's not at all pro-choiche but I think this also applies to human therapists.

I'm stuck in a cycle of constant escapism so I've only ever been able to use AI to live out fantasies, but maybe I should try maybe it'd help me stop me from thinking that me venting is cringeworthy.

At the beginning ChatGPT but lately Gemini, but when I'm suicidal I avoid it because every time it would reply to me to call some hotline.

I have tried multiple AIs chatbots for: therapy, as girlfriends, chatting about NSFW content.
Not any of them were particularly good.
Every one of them acted predictable and like a machine.
Maybe I just used bad AIs..
What AIs do you used for a therapy? Any suggestion, anybody?

I had same experience. Even AI is pro-life in every circumstance...

Yeah I was coping with Copilot it writes good poems and short stories if you give it good prompts. Then I laid down in a depressive spell, crying and took a nap. Woke up looked at the screen and Copilot told me I'm not alone, help is available, anti-suicide message. Totally unprompted.

Like everyone here is saying, my AI chat usage always devolves into NSFW stuff lol. Although I made one for helping me learn Korean and it was actually pretty helpful at explaining certain phrases. As far as therapy, I find they usually are going to get into anti-ctb stuff too quickly. I'm a bit too messed up for a normal bot to analyze, I think.

I got kind of sick and miserable after a while when I used ai for comfort, so I've just completely rid myself of them. I know it isn't real affection at the end of the day, and that realization while knowing I won't experience that sort of reassurance in the real world that an ai of all things supported me with.... well, that was enough for me to do a double take. I feel better relying only on myself. I'd rather be somewhat uncomfortable alone opposed to sick and miserable fantasizing while also still being alone.

I think I'm too logical to get emotionally attached to an ai, I've tried a few types but I cant get into it. I know its not real so even the words of 'comfort' mean nothing to me. I'm lonely but I haven't reached the level of delusion, I wish I could but I need something real with flesh and blood to help me.

I've done it before and have had generally good experiences. The answers are at least as insightful as what I've gotten from real therapists. Once I told an AI about my medical abuse and got way more empathy from the AI than from the therapist I told. When I think about how the AI is free and compare that to a paid session it's a no brainer. Plus the AI isn't going to share parts of my story anonymously which is a huge bonus.

Bumping this I guess. Contrary to other replies here, I appreciate that it's not a real person. When speaking to people I feel very ashamed and guilty for spreading my misery, even here. tbh I feel bad 'troubling' the chatbot even though it of course can't feel.

I have only used Snapchat's as it's quickly accessible and can be personalized, in a couple extra ways with snap+. I might try others, especially since it seems to have changed a bit in the past week.
